Rules: Getting SMTP mail to work?

Hello!

I'm having trouble getting the SMTP mail action from a rule working.
I am using Free/Evaluation edition 2.2.0.310 on windows 7.

I know the condition from my rule is triggered due to the fact that
another action writes to a text file. This is working fine. Where
I'm having trouble is with the SMTP mail action. I've set all the
fields to the best of my knowledge, but I'm not receiving the mail
notification. I've traced the transaction using wireshark but I dont
see any packets for the transaction going out on to the network to the
SMTP host. I've made sure Vercue is allowed using the network
(windows firewall OFF + Vercue on the list of programs allowed to
communicate on the network), but I still do not see anything on the
network related to a possible SMTP transaction. I've tried using the
IP of the host directly.

Is the SMTP mail action working on the evaluation edition?
Is there anything I'm missing?
Any tip on getting this to work?

Hi Christian,
Can you please send me, to my private email, a zip of the vercue folder from %appdata%?

The folder contains all the configuration and log files.
