Note: Most languages create a new folder The Sims 4, Die Sims 4, Los Sims 4 etc. in the folder Documents\Electronic Arts, so you might lose your previously created Houses, Sims aso.
When necessary, copy your folders Saves and Tray to the newly created folder.
So I know what caused it now but still no idea how to fix it. installing _off_EA_App so I can keep using origin is the culprit. Is there any way to make those two play nicely or do I need to choose between the language changer on ea app or no language changer on origin?
Yesterday I installed The sims 4 from origin, and I had to choose between Russian, Polish and some other language, so I choose russian. It is really hard to play in russian, so i want to change the language to english. I know that you have to install language packs on windows, but i dont know how you do it on mac.
Do you have other games in English? It is very odd for the game not to give you multiple options for which language you wish to use. I would try EA Customer Support again and just wait on the phone. It does take them awhile to answer, but they may be able to help you.
but now , i have a mack, and i downloaded the same game from origin and i dont have the english language, because the language pack is not installed ( i dont know how) i know how to change the language on the computer (the sims 4 files) but then the game crashes, because although i changed the language in the script to english, there isnt an english language pack installed manually. i hope you understand what i said :D
i have the same problem. mine is the sims 12 in 1, only one cd installer. the installer provides a patch to change the language. Usually it works even in windows 7. Now i am using HP pavilion with 64bit and the language cannot be changed. I already tried both the suggestion of changing the registry entry in reg edit. I also tried editing the autorun but the autorun in the installer only contains the following :
Hello, thanks for the tutorial. I followed it and changed my language to Finnish, and it worked great; but when I tried to change it back to English (both of them) the neighbourhood names are still in Finnish. Do you have any suggestion?
Also, I tried switching between 0 and 1 English, but both of them seem to have US spelling?

If you change your language and lost your save file then just copy the one in Documents/Electronic Arts/TheSims4/saves/ to the folder in the language you changed it, if it's from deutsche to english then from DieSims4/saves/ to TheSims4/saves/
