This stotra is found in Brahmanda purana (Old epic of the universe) as discussion between Hayagreeva and Agasthya. Hayagreeva is an incarnation of Vishnu with the horse head and is believed to be the storehouse of knowledge. Agasthya is one of the great sages of yore who is one of the stars of the constellation great bear. At his request Hayagreeva taught him holy 1000 names of Lalithambigai . ( from P. R. Ramachander )

I had been to Kootanur Saraswathi temple in 2005, again i went on 11 : 07 : 2009 and had darshan of Goddess Saraswathi. From Koothanur with in 10 kms is this village Thirumeeyachur. Our car took us as i kept talking over mobile to my Sai friend about the greatness of Temples in Tamilnadu especially in Kumbakonam - Thiruvarur area. It was a beautiful evening when we reached this temple. I told my sai friend Vidhya that i have to keep the mobile down as we reached another temple.

My parents , aunt and uncle already were in a small tea shop and i continued to speak to vidhya asking her to let me photograph this beautiful Gopuram. Mobile phones are good to connect with friends but at times when we have to connect ourself with God , we have to make such requests.

While my Amma was having tea i stood in a place where there were lots of Ants who bite me. I remembered Shirdi Saibaba's words "If you want to do something, Do it whole heartedly . Other wise do not do it" . Probably this ants bite me to make me realize having darshan in such sacred temples with humble devotion is important than connecting with friends over mobile. I wonder what other little ways my Sai would choose to make me purely devoted to Lord Shiva. I came outside the tea shop got lamps and we all went inside.

( Vidhya read the article n asked that i feel shes disturbing. The reason i included this incident is that little distractions of various kinds happens when we go on a pilgrimage. We must never forget the fact that its Pilgrimage and our heart and soul must ever be remembering God. )

Wonderful it was the Darshan of this temple. After lighting lamps in lord Shiva Meghanadhar Sannidhi , i bowed to Shiv lingam . Then we came around the temple . I loved a statue where Lord shiva is pacifying Parvathi not to get angry and remain in peaceful mood. So the sculpture is made in such a way that if we stand in left side parvathi seems to be angry and if we stand in right side she seems to be smiling. What a wonderful expression depicted in statue.
