I could not find a good one for the C172 G1000, so I made one. Specifically, I also added VATSIM specific checks, such as reminders of when to ask for clearances, setting up UNICOM, and a few others. I have heavily based it on a checklist found at -content/uploads/2014/09/Checklist-C172SP-G1000.pdf

If you find an error, or something that should be done in a different order, let me know! You should only need to make a text docomeent in the X-Plane/Aircraft/Laminar Research/Cessna 172SP folder named Cessna_172SP_G1000_clist.txt and copy the below information into it. It requires X-Checklist to work, which can be found on the xplane forums.

Checklists and quick reference books are critical tools to ensure flight safety in all phases, from pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight. The right checklist should create a mode of efficiency in any situation that it's needed. Our library of checklists are what we consider to be the best, most efficient checklist available to pilots. We carry checklists for general aviation aircraft, aviation GPS units and navigation systems along with general flight safety checklists.

Flight checklists are just one component that every pilot needs to approach each flight confidently. We have pilots covered for all their cockpit and general flight needs with the finest, highest quality pilot supplies. We can help you build a comprehensive flight bag with all the flight safety tools and resources you'll need to be prepared in any situation. Whether it's airplane life vests, portable oxygen systems, pulse oximeters even personal locator beacons, we have all the safety resources any pilot is looking for.

Still, if we already completed our landing checklist, do we really need to follow it up with another one? Ask one of the pilots who made a pilot error gear-up landing last year, and they will tell you that they wish they had run one final checklist.

On a retractable gear aircraft, confirm that the gear lever has been pulled, but do not stop there. Confirm full extension with visual indicators including lights if you have them and by looking out the window to see if the tires are visible.

Be careful not to fall victim to expectation bias here. Our eyes can play tricks on us, causing us to see what we expect to see not what is actually there. This is especially common with routine tasks that we have performed many times like gear extensions. Make a conscious effort to check for full extension.

Confirm that your fuel mixture control is set to full rich. Although you may be able to make a safe landing with a lean mixture, if you need to call a missed approach and do a go-around, you will appreciate having the extra power available on demand without stressing and damaging the engine.

The propeller settings are also based on the premise of having the aircraft as pre-configured for a go-around as possible. If you are flying a plane with a variable-pitch or constant-speed propeller, set the prop control to the highest RPM setting rather than leaving it in the cruise setting.

If your plane needs fuel pumps turned on for landing, include a pumps check here as well. Some pilots also tack on a power check at this point to confirm their power management settings and make any adjustments as needed.

The GUMPS checklist designed to be performed following the prior to landing checklist and serves as a double check of the key items on that checklist that can cause critical failures if they are missed.

Although we do our best to work down the checklist and accomplish each item, distractions like identifying the runway, dealing with radio communications, and spotting other traffic can pull us away just long enough that we slip up and miss a crucial item on the standard check. GUMPS plugs that hole.

The timing of your GUMPS check will depend on whether you are flying VFR or IFR. For VFR flights, complete a GUMPS check before entering your downwind leg in the pattern. An IFR pilot will run GUMPS before or as they arrive at the final approach fix.

A GUMPS check is a fast, effective way to double-check the most critical pieces of the landing checklist. It takes less than a minute to do and running a GUMPS can catch something that was missed on the standard check before it turns into an expensive, embarrassing, and dangerous point of failure during landing.

Visually stunning and filled with deadly power, thunderstorms are one of the most fascinating and dangerous weather phenomena you are likely to encounter as a pilot. An estimated 40,000 thunderstorms pop up around the globe on a daily basis, so your odds of having to deal with one are reasonably high.

A Cessna checklist is a tool used to standardize flight safety measures before, during, and after flying Cessna airplanes (Cessna 172, Cessna 152, and Cessna 150). This checklist can be used by flight schools and aircraft fleets to identify issues or potential plane-crash risks and address them immediately. It can also act as a guidance tool for students and flight instructors to ensure that pre-flight checks are conducted regularly.

Before a Cessna plane leaves the runway, student pilots are trained to assess flight conditions using a detailed checklist. Cessna checklists are used throughout the whole flight to ensure that the pilot and crew are prepared for any issues that may arise. Missing a single item in the pre-flight, take-off, and landing checklist can turn a simple act of carelessness into a life-threatening emergency.

Completing Cessna 172 checklists effectively is a vital skill for every pilot and flight crew member. It trains them in diligently performing pre-flight tasks and other necessary steps that will avoid accidents in the air and on the tarmac. Here are 4 tips to help student pilots accomplish Cessna checklists effectively:

Simply put, they know the procedures by heart. However, this does not make them immune from the effects of human error. There are still many instances where checklist items have been missed during the inspection, leading to flight errors, and in the worst case, fatal accidents. Completing aircraft inspections efficiently is a vital skill for every Cessna 172 pilot and maintenance technician. It is crucial that they achieve this consistently to develop discipline and ensure good flight safety records.

With the help of the Cessna 172 checklist app, aviation professionals can leverage the power of technology to avoid human error and improve aircraft inspection procedures. Here are 5 tips on how pilots and maintenance technicians can maximize the SafetyCulture checklist app to perform efficient inspections:

The SafetyCulture Cessna 172 checklist app can serve as a powerful ally that can assist pilots and maintenance technicians in performing their inspection duties in the most efficient and beneficial way. This technology can be the answer in filling in the gaps caused by human errors during Cessna 172 inspections.

Complying with safety requirements using paper-based checklists can be tedious, and due to its routinary nature, critical pre-flight, take-off, and landing protocol might be overlooked or even skipped. Empower student pilots with a digital tool to efficiently benchmark performance and take your safety standards to new heights.

With the SafetyCulture Cessna 172 checklist app, you can eliminate the pitfalls of paper-based aircraft inspections and ensure the flight worthiness of your aircraft every time you fly. Flight school trainers and student pilots can do away with conventional pen-and-paper checklists and take advantage of the following benefits:

Use this customizable Cessna 172 pre-flight checklist to complete essential pre-flight checks while saving time from doing manual entry of data. Pilots can attach and annotate images of any defect found on the aircraft and instantly notify technicians for a quick response.

This Cessna 172 (SP) checklist is used to perform critical checks before, during, and after landing and safely secure the aircraft. It also contains best practice image for quick reference and better compliance. Use this Cessna 172 landing checklist on any mobile device, even while offline, and automatically file records in the cloud.

Student pilots and aviation professionals can use this checklist to complete checks for the two-seater Cessna 152. Note if the cabin, fuselage, wings, and nose have been thoroughly checked during pre-flight. Customize this checklist to add preferred items that can help make each flight phase of a Cessna 152 safer.

The PAVE checklist is a tool used to personally assess the (P)ilot-in-Command, (A)ircraft, en(V)ironment, and (E)xternal pressures and gain confidence of flightworthiness. As a student pilot checklist, this digital template can help determine gaps before each flight, adjust accordingly, and improve performance.

All pilots have been taught the importance of using written checklists, but a few ignore this flight safety resource. The FAA's practical test standards clearly state that pilots must use appropriate written checklists, yet the accident record shows that some pilots don't. Such actions can yield dire results.
