The infinity pool measures 10m x 4m and is 1.45m deep. Itis accessed via the steps in the shallow end. Surrounding thepool is a huge patio on which you will find 4 comfortable sunloungers with tables nearby, a romantic sail bed for two and alarge umbrella for shade.
Dine al fresco under the gazebo at the table that seats 6. Siton the rattan outdoor sofa which seats 8 with coffee tablenearby. For those of you who like to cook outdoors there isthe huge stainless steel kitchen unit/ gas BBQ just ready waitingfor you to use.
Villa Ponderosa is a wonderful place to relax but if youfancy venturing out, the surrounding countryside and the AcquedottoPugliese where there is a pathway for walkers and cyclists are allthere to be explored, right on your doorstep.
Five minutes in the car will take you to BarGalante. You can also walk here easily throughthe lanes from Villa Ponderosa and it will take approximately 15minutes to do so. The Caf/Bar/Shop is open 7 days a week andserves great coffee and cornetti for breakfast. Hot freshlyprepared food is available at lunch times to take away and breadbaked every day. In the evenings they have a variety of hotfood and the deli is really good. Just up from the shop is anew restaurant called Sale E Pepe which serves typical localfood.
The towns of Martina Franca, Cisternino and CeglieMessapica are all just over 10 minutes drive away where you willfind everything you need for your stay. There are someexcellent restaurants, with prices to suit all budgets. Atthe property you will find a detailed house book of what to do/seewhilst on holiday. We suggest some places that are off thebeaten track and are always happy to make further suggestions whenyou are here.
Wow, what can we say? We have just spent 4 weeks at VillaPonderosa on a special holiday. We chose here as our previous twovisits were brilliant and we were confident this one would be too.The villa is as lovely as ever, the pool is as fabulous as ever andthe views are as stunning as ever! We had the best time, so much ofit relaxing under the gazebo, swimming in the pool and just makingthe most of the beautiful surroundings. The wonderful Barbara wasavailable to give us the low down on some super new eating placesto try which we thoroughly enjoyed. We wouldn't have been aware ofthem without her local knowledge. At the end of each week the linenand towels were replaced and the villa made spotless again! We feltvery looked after. We visted our favourite towns of Locorotondo,Cisternino and Ostuni and a few further afield, the spectacularMatera, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare. All were reached inreasonable times from the villa. It really is a great base for thearea. Puglia Holiday Rentals, as always, exceed expectations fromthe initial booking. They are there the whole way through shouldyou need them until the end of your holiday. One thing that alwaysmakes us smile is just how quickly they return the securitydeposit! It is something we do tend to forget about in the bustleof the journey home and unpacking. It is always a nice surprise toget an email when we get back saying it has been transferred. Thisin the past has been the very next morning, or even the sameevening. This time it was before we had even left Italy! Veryefficient and much appreciated. A super villa managed by abrilliant team.
We stayed at Villa Ponderosa in August with our two children(aged 8 and 11). The property itself is beautifully maintained andBarbara was very welcoming when we arrived later than planned -communication between ourselves and PHR and their staff is withoutfault. The outdoor area lived up to expectations - the swimmingpool and gazebo area with outdoor bbq are absolutely ideal and weenjoyed spending our time here! Being on the acquedotto path isgreat for walking and also running - very safe and you could walkfor miles and miles! We love Martina Franca which is 10 minutesaway and on this occasion we also went into Locorotondo andCisternino - both beautiful towns in the locality and visible fromthe property. We loved it! This was our second villa through Puglia Holiday Rentals - thelast being in 2019 before Covid. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourstay in Villa Ponderosa - the pool and the house have been amazing!The walks along the acquedotto Pugliese are stunning! MartinaFranca is a beautiful town, as is Locorotondo and Cisternino. GOODOrestaurant in Locorotondo was amazing!
Fabulous villa, outside area & pool. Wonderful views &especially the sunsets. Comfortable and general well equipped,Ponderosa has it all. We had a relaxing holiday and will definitelyreturn. Lots to do in the area and great restaurants to dine at.Jackie, Barbara, & Brian made sure that our pre-stay &holiday was seamless. Overall, we had a fab holiday and unrivalledexperience, one to be repeated. Thank you.
This was our third stay at Ponderosa. That speaks for itself.The views and outside space are stunning! We had a couple of issueswhile we were there (nothing to do with the property) and Barbara,our host, was exemplary every time. She responded quickly and gaveus great advice. It is reassuring to have someone on hand who is soeffective. Booking through PHR was, as always, very easy andstraightforward and Jackie is so knowledgeable about all theproperties on their site and the area generally. Thanks all!!
