Now before i say anything, im just gonna say that i completely agree with most of the message of this song, and im only talking about a small part of it. Women most definitely go through serious issues that need to be addressed.

I don't like strawberry shortcake because of its portrayal of men. Being a teenage guy, one of the most hurtful things to think is that women are scared of you because of your gender. It really hurts when all men are branded as creepy sexual freaks just because of how they were born. This song shows men as, creepy, animalistic, and all in all it dehumanizes the gender. The video never says not all men in it, so it feels like shes referring to all guys. Messages like this really can damage a man's mental health, and as a guy who's society deems him a monster just because of his body parts, it just didn't sit well with me. It also feels like shes saying that women are incapable of being harassers, even though lots of men are harassed by women and their experiences are ignored. What's your opinion on it?

Although a number of several opening sequences were used from the series, the theme song itself remained the same. The song was notably the only song within the series not performed by one of the characters. but only uncredited artist does. It was featured at the beginning of all music albums released for the series.

MV: We had nothing to do with the scripts. They were all pre-written and we wrote songs to accompany the story. Howard acted as the voice of the Purple Pie Man on the records, but not on the TV show. We all acted as the Care Bears characters on the Care Bears records we produced, too.

No Ordinary Berry is a song from the Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City series. It was sung when Strawberry Shortcake felt nervous from moving into the new city and goes around the city and it's locations while getting used to the area.

I love a soft chewy melt in your mouth cookie and this recipe for Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake Cookies fits the bill. These little delights satisfy that sweet craving I get with the wonderful strawberries that have an added punch of flavor from-are you ready? lemon zest!! The lemon is just enough to carry the strawberry flavor to a new height!

You only need two ingredients for the strawberry filling: sugar and fresh strawberries. Chop up the strawberries and mix with a little sugar. The sugar helps strawberries release all their delicious juices, which will seep down into the sweet biscuits and whipped cream. (Aka the best part about strawberry shortcake!) I recommend mixing the strawberries and sugar together before you make the biscuits; this gives the strawberries some time to juice up.

Hi Jenifer, Thank you for trying this shortcake recipe. It could be the brand. We always use (and swear by!) Clabber Girl. Substituting with some baking soda helps though and if you ever want to try it, you can reduce the baking powder to 1 Tablespoon and add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.

But you, dear visitor of this site? I think you're ready! For starters, there's "New York, New York." This song bears the distinction of being the only place on the album where you'll hear the city referred to as anything other than "The Big Apple."

After due deliberation, the Florida Senate paused from fighting the culture wars, and with a rare show of bipartisan accord, voted 36-0 to declare strawberry shortcake Florida's official state dessert.

A long debate. One that pitted coastal South Florida against North Florida. Yet the strawberry shortcake bill (CS/SB 1006) cruised to a Senate vote on its first try. A testament to the political power of legislators from the Polk and Hillsborough County area, home of the state's strawberry industry and the Florida Strawberry Festival.

As the legislative staff analysis document points out, "more than 10,000 acres of strawberries are planted annually in the greater Plant City Area, accounting for 75% of the United States' winter strawberry crop."

From a state symbol point of view, Key Lime has a unique place in Florida's identity. It is, as the late state Sen. Larcenia Bullard once declared, "the pink flamingo of Florida food." Strawberry shortcake, by contrast, is not particularly associated with Florida, at least once you drive east of Plant City and get past Disney World. And here I realize I'm showing my bias as a person whose skin turns pink when I eat strawberries. This is not my state dessert.

As with all official state object debates, additional considerations entered into the proceedings. The version passed by the Senate was changed from the original bill to declare that only "strawberry shortcake with natural Florida dairy topping" qualifies as the official state dessert. None of this whipped topping full of nondairy food-lab products spewed from a pressurized can will sit atop Florida's official state dessert. No siree. Dairy industry concerns have been duly taken into consideration. (The official state pie statute, by contrast, is more liberal, welcoming all variations and toppings on Key lime pie.)

An unsuccessful amendment to the official dessert bill attempted to introduce the unrelated issue and novel concept of changing the official state song for only one year. (TRIGGER WARNING: The following mentions the title of a song that could go spinning around your head for the rest of the day. You've been notified.) Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, proposed making "It's a Small World (After All)" the state song for 2023 to belatedly honor the 50th anniversary of Disney World's opening in 1971.

For the record, the current state song is "Old Folks at Home," which contrary to popular belief, is not about The Villages. And it's a song with cringey antebellum baggage even with the lyrics cleaned up for modern sensibilities. Bills to strike it from the official state symbol pantheon have been proposed in the past and failed. A song-of-the-year bill might have reopened that acrimonious debate.

The song talks about feeling pressured by society to look like dolls and Barbies, who are depicted as beautiful and perfect. After showing more skin and looking more beautiful, the boys cannot control themselves, but it is the girls' fault because they dressed in that way and are therefore "asking for it". The song is closely compared with Mrs. Potato Head, another song where Melanie talks about feeling the need to change your appearance to be accepted in society and be considered beautiful.

[Verse 1]
Feeling unsure of my making body
Stand back watch it taking shape
Comparing myself to the dolls and Barbies
Gotta accept it 'cause I can't escape it
Now my mother's trying to make sure I'm pure
But I've never really thought about this before
Look around the room to whoever wants to see

[Pre-Chorus]
All the boys thinking that they can do what they please
Changed how I dress, and now my mind's never at ease
Plastic beauties are looking over my way
Don't know which way is the right to stay

[Chorus]
And now it's my fault, it's my fault
'Cause I put the icing on top
Now it's too late for my strawberry shortcake
And now he's excused, he's excused
No matter how much I've been abused
Now it's way too late for my strawberry shortcake

[Verse 2]
I set too much on my blue, plaid tablecloth
Keep looking back before I lose it all
Now I gotta move forward, put my best look forth
Put my past behind and now its too small

[Pre-Chorus]
All the boys thinking that they can do what they please
Changed how I dress, and now my mind's never at ease
Plastic beauties are looking over my way
Don't know which way is the right to stay

[Chorus]
And now it's my fault, it's my fault
'Cause I put the icing on top
Now it's too late for my strawberry shortcake
And now he's excused, he's excused
No matter how much I've been abused
Now it's way too late for my strawberry shortcake

[Bridge]
Instead of making me feel bad for the body I've got
Remind him to keep it to himself 'cause he already forgot
Never really liked this new look and saw others say
That they don't see the point so now I'm washing it all away

[Chorus]
And they said it's my fault, it's my fault
'Cause I put the icing on top
And it's too late for my strawberry shortcake
And now he's excused, he's excused
No matter how much I've been abused
And that it's way too late for my strawberry shortcake

[Outro]
Maybe it's not too late for my strawberry shortcake (strawberry shortcake)

As I write this, it’s my last week in Tokyo before heading back to New York. I’d planned to use my final days catching up on visits to a few museums and parks. But last night, right before my granddaughter, M, and her dad produced a luscious (if dented) strawberry shortcake and serenaded me with a heartfelt (if off-key) birthday song, I stubbed my pinky toe—hard. So hard that I’m now hobbled in such a way that might prevent the kind of pedestrian exploring I love doing here.
