Hi Piet, Maja

I am getting tired of spoon-feeding the Venter family. It is time that my fellow clan members start doing their own active research and contribute to the Venter ancestry. I am not “it” and I do not know everything. Anyway, Piet is wrong. Hendrik Venter was recorded in the Cape BEFORE 1683. In fact, he was a free citizen before this date. This is public domain knowledge. There are at least two archive records confirming this.

Besides, my fellow Venters can’t even show me the grave of Hendrik Venter, although we know where he was buried.

Then of course, there are those (including myself) who have submitted DNA samples. Can you believe that nobody put Hendrik (in South Africa) as their ancestor? So when you look at the DNA map for us (R1a1), there is not a single marker in Africa. What a pity. Speaking of DNA. This is very interesting. We can track this for at least 10 000 years. This means we can trace our ancestry to before the Egyptian times (Pharaohs) and before the time the Jews were slaves there. Actually, we can go back in time to before the time of the great flood (Noah) as well as before Adam and Eve existed. (well, according to the DNA map, all humans can go back before Adam and Eve, e.g. 70 000 years, and homo sapiens can be traced to as far as 3 million years ago)

Any narrow minded research will not reveal anything. My approach was the opposite, which is why I could find Bonifatius and Jan Hendrik in the archives, whilst everybody else (including “reputable” authors) could not. Also why I could find Hendrik and his wife’s real burial dates, that of Pieter Venter and many more.

If you know the VOC history (1670 – 1690) then you can narrow down the ships, but you are welcome to go through the records and select your “own” ship:

1. Wat is de eerste datum dat Hendrik aan de Kaap vermeld is?
2. Waarom denkt Christo dat Hendrik met de Vrije Zee gekomen moet zijn?
3. In welk jaar moet dat dan geweest zijn?

Groetjes,
Maja

Hi,

I am not the Oracle. Besides, I may have the incorrect info, which is why another (group) should also do research to verify my data or get additional info. I have not given the Venter Community Site all my info. They should independently also find stuff. So should you and everyone Venter. Everything always comes down to cost. As I have told you before. I think our fellow clan members should start digging into their pockets and fund some themselves.

My experience with my fellow clan is that they research by reading books. Very little own research. And that is why we have all the rubbish about our Venter ancestry. One cannot gain without investing some money and nobody seems interested in doing so. (without strings attached)

And also, as I have told you, for now, my budget has been exhausted, so further research from my side, will have to wait.

So, sharing? Who is sharing my costs? For as long as I am the sole sponsor, I will decide what I want to share and when (if any). Anyway, I am doing this to satisfy my own curiosity. Not necessarily for the Venter clan.

Then of course, a lot of the info is freely available. Nobody seems to have the energy to go find the stuff. Everybody is waiting for somebody else to go get it and then “share”.

“Team” means everybody plays together. I am yet to see that.

Play with the ship list. However, there is only one ship…. J

Hi everybody.

Christo: “spoon-feeding” ? Maybe: ”sharing” ?

We are trying to find out a few things, and you have the answers to those questions. That’s why we turned to you.

But maybe we should sit back and wait for the info to be made public by yourself. There is a cost factor which prevents us from going full-steam ahead with research icw. the info we have.

On the other hand, there is an easier, more sharing way – after all, we need some team-building in the family! J

Thanks for the ship’s list. I will see what I can find out, but this will take patience and a lot of time!

Groetnis – lekker aand!
