The VeloViet guys have been busy cycling, and I don't think they have fully locked down a kit vendor or a design yet. I will forward this to the club's Captain and the leads, and if they are interested in exploring more on these, they will contact you directly. Thank you for taking the time to allow us to assess your design experience! From what I see, I believe there will be no issue if the club decides to explore more with you. Thanks,PhongOn Tue, Jul 11, 2017 at 3:07 PM, Joe Szeto <j...@szetophotography.com> wrote:Hey Phong,Sorry for the delay in getting these concept ideas to you. After we ran into each other in Incycle that time, I was bombarded with a couple urgent matters that I had to deal with.Anyways, if it's not too late, I'd like to submit these to you as perhaps a starting point for the VeloViet new kit design. Again, you're not committed to go with my design services in any way. But should your club show interests in the directions I'm going, I'd love to design their next kit.Let me know what you think of these designs. And please remember these are only rough conceptual exercises and are in no way reflecting the quality of the final artwork.

Also note we cannot commit to you even after you sent the concepts designs, but these will at least allow us to assess your design skills. Thanks for your understanding.Hi Joe,Nice to chat with you today at InCycle. Thanks for the offer of doing a few quick concept designs to allow VeloViet to assess your design experience. Thanks,PhongOn Sun, Jun 25, 2017 at 1:56 PM, Phong Ha <phong...@gmail.com> wrote:Thanks Joe for the info! And many more thanks for the compliments regarding the BOBies' new kit design. On a few of my OC rides, I have in fact ran into VeloViet more than a couple times. You guys are fast!! And you all look like a coherent well-oiled machine when riding as a group. Very impressive!!My design service for cycling kits will be as follows...1) Initial consultation. This will be a meeting with the key decision maker(s) to discuss what's already been done in the past. Strange place to start, I know. But I need to discover what worked, and more importantly, what didn't work. This is also a time to find out some of the likes, dislikes and what direction we'd like to go.2) Resources and assets gathering. This phase will involve the gathering of all relevant design elements from past projects and pass them on to me. I'd need to see the last 2-3 designs, more if available. I'd also like to have all sponsors' logos available as well. (** If there are still "undecided", I would need to know about how many we may or may not add to the design). All digital files should be in vector format. Your previous designer(s) should have given these to you already. But above all else, the most important asset would be the templates from the kit manufacturer. This is the base of which all the designs would be calibrated to and we can't move an inch without these. Some companies templates combine jersey and bib shorts while others might have them separately. Give me everything you've got.3) Concept and Development. This is where the fun starts. Once I have all pertinent elements, I'd begin the design. Base on what we have discussed during the consultation phase, I would come up with 4-5 different designs. When completed, we would meet again for the first look. Rather than expecting one perfect design, understand instead that this is where we begin to see what we keep and what we discard. And from the "likes' elements, I'd combine them in a handful of variations. These, then, will likely yield our final design.4) Final prep for print-ready artwork. Once we have arrived at our final design, I would clean everything up and prep everything for the final output files. This is also where I would apply the final design to other items such as arm-warmers and socks. As for applying the design to other related items, such as vest, long sleeve jersey, etc, that will depend on the manufacturer and what you plan on offering. For instance, for JL Velo, they only require one set of design for the short sleeve jerseys and bib shorts and they will apply those designs to all the rest.5) Pricing. My fee is $250 for the designing of a short sleeve jersey, bib shorts, arm-warmers, and socks. If I need to apply the design to items other than those already listed, there will be an additional fix fee of $150.As for my previous designs, I'd need to dig into my archives and see what I can find. I know right off the bat that I've lost 2 sets of designs from couple years ago due to a hard drive failure. But I'll see what I can find and send you guys some samples.Feel free to contact me should you have any questions and/or to set up a meet to go over your needs.I look forward to meeting you all and to develop the next awesome kit for VeloViet!!!Regards,
