<p>The bicycle is a healthy, clean, fast, economic and modern means of
transport. Bicycling is fun and a benefit to any European city, which
wants to be an attractive place for living.</p>

<p>We, the Velomanija Vilnius 2009, consider, that</p>

<ol>
<li>Effective education can solve the most problems: The reality is
better than you imagine;</li>
<li>Bicycle infrastructure in the city centre should be integrative,
not segregative. This can be reached eg. by traffic calming, car free
zones;</li>
<li>City bicycle roads should be build from asphalt;</li>
<li>Bicycle ro

ads should be continuous;</li>
<li>People who cycle need safe bicycle parking;</li>
<li>Good cycling infrastructure can exist only with a cooperation
between local communities, authorities and non governmental
organisations.</li>
</ol>

<p>Other issues to consider are a centralised bicycle register, no kerbs
on bicycle roads, appropriate bicycle road marking and the possibility
to take the bicycle on the public transport.</p>

Velomanija Vilnius 2009
DEKLARACJA

Rower jest zdrowym, ekologicznym, szybkim, tanim i nowoczesnym
środkiem transportu. Jazda na rowerze to przyjemność, dlatego promuje
się ten sposób komunikacji w każdym europejskim mieście, które chce
stworzyć atrakcyjne warunki do życia.

My, uczestnicy Velomanija Vilnius 2009, stwierdzamy, że:

- Efektywna edukacja może rozwiązać wiele problemów: rzeczywistość
jest lepsza, niż sobie to wyobrażasz;
- Rowerowa infrastruktura w centrum miasta powinna być zintegrowana z
pozostałą infrastrukturą drogową, a nie odseparowana. Można to
osiągnąć min. poprzez wprowadzenie elementów uspokojenia ruchu i
tworzenie stref niedostępnych dla samochodów;
- Drogi rowerowe winny być budowane z asfaltu;
- Trasy rowerowe muszą być spójne;
- Rowerzyści potrzebują bezpiecznych miejsc parkingowych;
- Odpowiednia infrastruktura rowerowa będzie tworzona tylko przy
współpracy władz lokalnych, specjalistów i organizacji pozarządowych.

Pozostałe sprawy do rozwiązania to: wprowadzenie centralnej bazy
rowerów, zlikwidowanie krawężników na drogach rowerowych, odpowiednie
oznakowanie dróg rowerowych i możliwość przewozu rowerów w środkach
publicznego transportu.

I like your selection of pictures.
I think, the Czech made the most pictures (I counted over 1400 without
critical mass...)
I try to make a picassa-page for velom...@googlegroups.com, if that is
possible...
O do you have an proposal how we most practically can put pictures?
