Are there plans for future contents to drum up interest in creating artifacts or was the 2021 event a once off?

This is an excellent question. We really would like to encourage more artifact contributions but things are a bit different now:

1. We have a lot of artifact contributions in the artifact exchange - in fact too many even. We are actually starting to work on consolidating a lot of important but simpler artifacts into larger more automated artifacts like the sqlite hunter, registry hunter and now the sigma project. 

2. So we really would like to see more complex artifacts which might require more concerted design effort to ensure they are not a one shot poc for the competition.

3. Finally (this is probably the least sexy reason) we just can't raise the budget for the prize money as we did back in 2021 :-(

However we are planning to run the VeloCon this year as we did last year (will try to get the call for presentations out this month) but this is also a great event where people can talk about any projects and implement new ideas.

So I would encourage everyone to start thinking of their next VeloCon submission for this year!  It will definitely go ahead
