Description:    How do I convert steps from a VXM into "Real" units such as Inches, Millimeters, or Degrees?

From the VXM Users Manual P.11 (See COSMOS menu under "Help--->Documentation" if you can not find the manual)

    Velmex "Standard" motors are 200 steps/Rev (or 1.8 degrees/step), Motors with a "M" in the model number are 400 steps/rev (or 0.9 degrees/step)
VXM = 1/2 step per step
    Resulting Steps per Rev = 400 Steps/Rev

The below table represents the values used with a standard motor and a VXM

Belt Drive Models            Advance per step
        M10                               0.25 mm

        Lead Screw Models
        UniSlide*     BiSlide**     Advance per step
        C P40         E25             0.0000625 inch
        B P20         E50             0.0001250 inch
        W1 P10      E01             0.0002500 inch
        W2 P5        E02             0.0005000 inch
        W4 P2.5      E04            0.0010000 inch
        K1 Q1         M01            0.0025 mm
        K2 Q2         M02            0.0050 mm

        Rotary Tables
Model        Gear Ratio    Advance per step
        B4872         72:1            0.0125 degree
        B4836         36:1            0.0250 degree
        B4818         18:1            0.0500 degree
        B5990         90:1            0.0100 degree

To convert "real" units to steps
Steps =     (Distance) / (Advance per step)
Speed = (Steps per Second) * (Advance per step)
