I’m trying to connect to a VMX controller from my laptop, but, cosmos gives me the following error after I run the Startup | Wizard:
Setup wizard: Aborted – Unable to locate VMX
I tried two different sets of USB/RS232 cables already, to rule-out the cables.
I also sent cmd “F,I1M400,R” and never Rx the ready prompt char (“^”). Also, I manually set the port to COM3 and then send the cmd “E” and
the COSMOS status bar says: “Status: Port Open”, “Status: Online”. However, the On-Line light on the front panel of the device never turns on
like the manual says. I also tried sending the cmds via hyperterm & NI Max with out success.
What could be the problem?
FYI: I’m able to move the bislides using the jog buttons on the VXM, which means that it is in local mode. Also, I can move the Bislide with a joystick.
SW:
COSMOS v3.1.6
Windows 7
HW:
VXM-1, S# 140237
VXM-2, S# 140236
Two bislide assemblies in an x/y cfg.
Any tips/tricks to talk to the VMX will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
