I am considering going to this dinner hosted by Bold Italic at Nombe. They're offering a vegetarian kaiseki dinner with 4 sake pairings. It's $60 plus tax and tip so it'll be about $80 total for the evening. Not cheap but I do love vegetarian Japanese food.

Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. You'll meet Gil and Mari, get a brief intro to izakaya dining, and enjoy a delicious kaiseki (multi-course) sake-paired meal.

Edamame Hummus with taro chips 

Tomato, shiso, and tofu caprese with sesame soy vinaigrette 

Double eggplant miso dengaku with spicy haccho miso and mild awase miso
