I'm a new user to Navigraph data, my first try today. I installed and ran the Navigraph FMS Data Manager, but it can't find my XP11 install. I'm on a Mac so the run-time file is "X-Plane.app". When the FMS Data Manager tries to find the run-time executable is appears to be looking for an .exe file- so it appears to spend hours searching for the install. I have tried to manually point it to XP11, but once inside the root folder it can never get to "open" as it's not finding the file-type that it's looking for- at least that's what appears to be happening.

Forget the FMS data manager. Just go to the "manual install" option on Navigraph's site (under Products, FMS data), and grab the XP 11 native data. This will come in as "xplane11_native_1705.zip". Unzip it, when it will appear as a folder called "xplane11_native_1705". Open it, and place all its contents into your X-Plane 11/Resources/default data folder - overwriting (replacing) the existing contents. There will be a CIPF folder, and 3 .dat files, plus two other files. That's it.

The problem with that 'fix', is the next time you run the Installer/Updater because you have some other problem or LR issues an update to X-Plane the X-Plane 11/Resources/default data folder will get overwritten if your not very carefull. The prefered location for all user updates is X-Plane 11/Custom Data folder.

On a Mac too...to follow up on what @cessna729 said you may also in the future/now have multiple aircraft and/or multiple copies of XP11 (beta/non beta etc). I recommend the manager because it's so simple and it remembers everything...below are a few Mac mapping pics.

The cycle info I've highlighted is for default X-Plane 11 aircraft as well as some payware and freeware aircraft. You will also note a GNS430 and UFMC folder; these are for particular payware aircraft and need to be updated as well with the current AIRAC cycle info.

However, I'm surprised to learn that you could put the CIPF folder and the .dat files into the Custom Data folder as well. Does this mean that X-Plane 11 then ignores the Default Data folder when the new "proper" X-Plane 11 planes access the Navigation Data? If so, why bother to have the navigation data in Default Data?

@ fwattyov: For some weird reason my manager seems to have found XP11- something I would like to check is that it's not updating an older beta of XP11 that I had saved on my G: drive. How do I check the path that the manager is addressing?

1) You can check the path several ways the easiest is to scroll-over the shortened Navigraph path...see pic below. So your cursor sits on "Users/.../GNS 430" and you get your full path. I've made that error in the past with XP10/11 backups on my Promise Pegasus. That's why I use the manager now...easier to point back and forth etc...dragging and dropping tends cause files to go missing/corrupt etc.

2) Assuming you meant GNS 430(9)...check your path and try updating again: choose only "X-Plane GNS430" as shown above...I've noticed that Navigraph can stall 24 to 48 hours after a new AIRAC cycle is released...so I check/update them all but end up doing the last one GNS430 by itself...or I wait 3 or 4 days after Navigraph sends me the AIRAC update email.

I'm not positive but think LR/XP11 may be designed this way to further/help aircraft developers so they don't need to include or deal with NAV data as in the past...also the new XP11 default GPS/FMS is capable of handling complete AIRAC information.

I've always had two identical GNS430 folders (derived from my Navigraph sub.) in my XP10 installation - one in Custom Data, and one in Resources. That has been covered in another post, and the same reasoning applied. It all works fine, so I take the attitude "Who cares?", as it takes two seconds to put the folders in place!

This necroposting phenomenon is largely a result of the "you need two answeres before you can make a new thread" rule that is enforced on new members. So people find an old question with an easy answer and post their answer that is technically correct so it's not spam. You have to do that twice so you can then start your own thread and ask your own question.

I don't mind as long people post actual answers, even if they are to three year old threads. It shows that they have done basic research and can craft a post that is at least factually correct and not spam.

** A "native" version of a download is identical to the regular download, but there is no installer program. The data is provided in a ZIP file which needs to be extracted manually in the correct folder.

This lets you map specific updates / file formats to specific folders, and whenever an update hits, you only have to click a single button and everything gets downloaded all at once and placed into the mapped folder.

I even used it for updating the E-Jet's data the last few cycles without issues. However, it forgot the auto map settings for the E-Jet now and I simply wanted to check whether I had the right folder.

I guess that the three earth-files (awy fix nav) for SSG 748 and the three earth-files for E-JET are identical? I also noticed that the ZIP-file for the E-JET Evolution Series also contains three UFMC files. I have those in X-Plane/Custom Data/UFMC too.

Here's a screenshot of my folder with AIRAC 1713 files, sorted for different aircraft. Notice the difference in files between the folder for SSG EJET and SSG 748. The E-Jet has the UFMC files. The Boeing 748 doesn't have those files. What is the reason?

I just wanted to inform you guys, that, at the time I downloaded the AIRAC 1713 cycle from Navigraph (early in December 2017), there were two different ZIP-files pertaining to SSG. One for the Boeing 747-800 and one for the Embraer aircraft. They contained different files as I pointed out above.

I'm still having problems getting the current cycle 1802 to display in the FMC. I have followed the instructions to the letter in your thread, but the FMC still shows as in the image. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Solved - Confusion on file names to download from Navigraph. Documentation said SSG_EJET_FMC - native and I couldn't find it, so downloaded the long file name at the bottom of the Navigraph list that had SSG 170 in it. After I went back and read your post for about the 5th time, I noticed the file name was " SSG Boeing 748i, E-Jets Evolution - native" which I looked past it becasue I thought it was only for the 748. The actual downloaded file name is ssg_native_1802.zip

The actual zip file name is not the same as the name on the Navigraph page. For example, the addon name on the Navigraph page is SSG Boeing 748i, E-Jets Evolution - native** , but the actual file name is ssg_native_1802.zip. Since that said 748, I went right on past it as first, until I saw you post. After studying the addon names a bit now, I guess the key is to understand the developer's name is the first part of the addon name and not just look for the type of AC , i.e., E-Jet, Embraer,, etc.,

Besides the airac updates, what happened to your plane updater? I dug out my key and loaded it in only to have the updater say that SSG is no longer using it. What is the new method? Are you emailing your users when an update is available. Thanks.

drive:/user/username/appdata/roaming/ABarthel, and pointed Navigraph to that folder, I do not see the proc folder and txt files associated
with Navigraph AIRACS. Strangely in the in the little_navmap_db where the instructions said not to put anything in.. I can see
the cycle txt file from Navigraph.

Not sure what you mean about "creating a path..." I assume you mean you created the path in Navigraph FMS Data Manager Addon Mappings. I don't recall having to do that, as I thought Navigraph automatically recognizes the LNM data path - of course I could be mistaken.

Safest way is to download the manual update "Little NavMap - native**" from here and unzip it. Then copy the file "little_navmap_navigraph.sqlite" to the folder "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel\little_navmap_db" and overwrite the old file "little_navmap_navigraph.sqlite".

Hi Albar.. I too am having the update Airac issue but on a Mac. I have a current Navigraph sub which is Airac 2006 r1 and I followed all of the update procedures above yet Little Nav Map is still showing either 1708 or 1801.

Alternatively use the manual install:
This is the safest way to install. Download the archive Little NavMap - native** and uncompress it.
Exit LNM, put the Sqlite file into the database folder and overwrite the current file. This should fix it.

I had the same problem and reported to navigraph, they told me to use their FMC manager for update, that works for me... but can't believe they didn't fix it on manualy install side for about a year...

This is weird. I am having a similar problem. I have 1-ejets-p3dv4-170-190_new_users_sp3 installed. One in P3Dv4 and one in P3Dv5. Both are in the add-on folder. I use Navigraph Data Manager to install NavData.

Yes I am running Navigraph as Administrator scoobflight. I am really wondering in P3Dv4 E170/190 and E135/145 the aircraft is not the issue. The active nav data is picked up but the current time and date remains the same. I don't know where the find the code to compare.
