Hi All,

 

We are starting one Kannada group in our organisation !!!!!!!

Its high time now, we kannadigas should do something about these humiliations meted  by our kannadigas and towards our mother land and mother tongue

i believe every organisation in karnataka should have one kannada group,

to bring in light to other employees(outsiders) the richness of our culture, language, and our land. We just got hurt and kept silent to loose comments made by outsiders to whom our karnataka gave job, food n shelter.

Be it Ayon Mitra of Oracle, or Family mart incidence, or hutch manager, or this recent IBM incidence.

How long can we keep quiet, and remain mum against these issues?

We just forward to our kannada friends and feel sorry...

Why do we keep silent after forwarding? Being kannadigas dont you think we must do something about this?

 

Its the establishment of IT and BT firms that lead to huge inflow of

outsiders to karnataka. So we software engineers being responsible for this , should do something about this, rather than just forwarding and

feel sorry about the matter. SO IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY.

 

For education after 10+2, we see huge number of students from other states flooding into karnataka. We welcome them.

For jobs after completion of BE, we see bundles of Budding engineers dropping down to bangalore/mysore. We welcome them also.

Inspite of karnataka being so generous towards them, we are getting humiliated.

What wrong have we done to them?

Why they treat kannada and kannadigas so low?

 

I dont like to mention the college name, but its considered as one of the prestigious colleges in bangalore. My friend's cousin joined it recently, where Kannada is considered as SERVANTS language. See, we kannadigas only wont have dignity towards our language..... So we cant blame others......we must start respecting our language then only some change can be see.....

What a shame......this is karnataka rich in culture, literature  and heritage, and kannada is considered like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I just wish karnataka gets back its pride, let others start respecting our land, our language  and our people.

Just have one kannada group in your organisation. This is not any anti social activity.

Purely focus on bringing in light to others about the richness of our land and language.

Lets not wait for our leaders to do something about this.

Why should we wait for others.....lets start it ourself.

Let there be unity among kannadigas.

With great difficulty I could read what you have written :-)

I can read Kannada written in Kannada script very well (I read only Kannada books). But I am not able to read Kannada written in English. Also I can't write.

My view is Kannada written in Kannada script, English written in English script is easy to read and write. Otherwise we simply waste our time in reading and writing.

but, plz understand that, due to the limitations of software in comps, some of our vks are unable to read my kannada script.

 

i've kannada baraha soft here. but when i sent such mails, some of us were unable to read, n forcefully i had to start writing kanglish..

 

that is why i was guided u to sadashiv, who is very good in kanglish teaching..

 

its true, for the first time its damn difficult to read, but believe me, once u start understanding kanglish script,

 

u ll njoy like anything (like us :-)),

 

once u learn the kanglish properly, i ll try teaching u utthara kannada baashe....

My name is Purnima Kota. Working for a software company (Flextronics) in Bangalore

 

I am a simple person and was never thinking too much about Kannada or Karnataka. Because I always talk in Kannada everywhere, read Kannada books, listen Kannada songs. My whole and soul is Kannada. So I was not aware of any anti-kannada elements in Karnataka.

 

My native is Udupi, which has contributed highest to Kannada literature. I am from village called Kota, where the great literate and social worker Dr. Shivaram Karanth was living. So my liking or hobby is reading Kannda books. Karnataka has given so much to me, I am proud of being Kannadiga.

 

From few months I am keep getting mails about how Karnataka and Kannada people are insulted, discriminated and suppressed in Karnataka itself. I started reading/forwarding those mails for couple of days. Then I thought reading those mails, feeling bad about it and then forwarding is not sufficient. We need to act on this. So we just started a Kannada Sangha in our Company. Neither we have big goals nor we want international recognition for this Sangha. Our goals are very very simple.

 

We encourage/pressurize Kannadiga’s to speak only in Kannada. It can be customer service, multinational bank, forum, showroom, food world, shopper stop, bus stand, hotel or anywhere in Karnataka.

 

We encourage/ pressurize people to read Kannada books. We (Kannadigas) have contributed highest to the literature; we have got highest awards for literature in India. Unfortunately we have least Kannada book readers.

 

We encourage/ pressurize Kannadiga’s to listen Kannada songs. You must be knowing that, no other language of India has songs like Kannada ‘Bhavageethe’. Kannada ‘Bhavageethe’ has very good literature, emotions, melody and music. But how many of us really listen to those?

 

We encourage/ pressurize Kannadiga’s to include Kannada cultural programs in their company’s annual day celebrations.

 

This is our Sangha’s small wish list. If possible conduct Kannada cultural programs, encourage Karnataka tourism, folk and so on. However due to our time constraint we are not aiming for big things.

 

When I was talking to a member of ‘Banavasi Balaga’ he was telling, what is missing in Karnataka is a group or activists from white collared job people. These are the people, who are most spoiling the image of Kannada.

 

We (white collared job people) keep doing the mistakes and we expect somebody or some of our leaders or of GoK will correct those. Is it not funny?

 

We keep reading/forwarding mails and feel bad, keep roaming in MG road and speaking in English, keep watching English/Hindi movies, keep watching non-kannada concerts and keep cribbing about the fate of Kannada. Does it make any sense?

 

What I can do for Kannada is a big question. Because I had big dreams, but never achieved single also so far. As our Basavanna says (hope I am correct) “aadade maaduvavanu roodiyolaguttamanu’. If you are expecting anything, from me please tell me, I will do my best.

I am from Mangalore and my Kannada is Mangalore Kannada.

But I love hearing N. Karnataka Kannada. It is so nice to hear if people are talking in that style (I became fan of it when I was watching 'Moodala Mane' serial).

But what I tell is, whether it is north or south Karnataka, Mangalore or Hubli, Mysore or Dharvad everybody had given their own flavour, tradition, sweetness to Kannada. I am keen to know all the flavours of Kannada. If we speak with our style, others also can learn and enjoy it. Na helodu sari allenu.

With great difficulty I could read what you have written :-)

I can read Kannada written in Kannada script very well (I read only Kannada books). But I am not able to read Kannada written in English. Also I can't write.

My view is Kannada written in Kannada script, English written in English script is easy to read and write. Otherwise we simply waste our time in reading and writing.

I am from Mangalore and my Kannada is Mangalore Kannada.

But I love hearing N. Karnataka Kannada. It is so nice to hear if people are talking in that style (I became fan of it when I was watching 'Moodala Mane' serial).

But what I tell is, whether it is north or south Karnataka, Mangalore or Hubli, Mysore or Dharvad everybody had given their own flavour, tradition, sweetness to Kannada. I am keen to know all the flavours of Kannada. If we speak with our style, others also can learn and enjoy it. Na helodu sari allenu.
