I. An Overview of the Vedic Dharma: Dr Harish Chandra was invited by an Islamic Research body of Kolkata, India to speak on the Vedic Dharma on 29th March 2009. Initially, the understanding was that 'some open-minded Muslims wanted to know about the Vedic teachings.' Later it was told that another Muslim scholar will speak on Islam. But it turned out that the Muslim scholar, on his turn after Dr Harish Chandra, began to speak on Hinduism and even referred to the Vedas. Dr Harish Chandra chose not to answer his distorted comments on the Vedas because the audience was predominantly Muslim and it wasn't clear how they would be controlled had Islam been criticized. Overall, the entire exercise was in poor taste for him. However, the host body has now uploaded his talk on Youtube and the corresponding links appear below. His talk represents the basics of the Vedic Dharma in a concise form and may be of interest to the readers of Vedoday2050:

II. Two-Year Study Program on Veda-Yoga: We are pleased to write about a new initiative from 'Om Shantidhama' - www.omshantidhama.in - in the form of a 2-year study program on Veda-Yoga through English as a medium of instruction. The first batch has started functioning from Monday September 6, 2010. Attached is its invitation for prospective students. Dr Harish Chandra has been closely involved with this initiative. He is currently teaching the course related to Vedic Philosophy & Concepts. You can help in many ways:
1. in student recruitment from all over the world
2. encouraging young people benefit from it - young people from foreign countries may consider devoting one year to gain an in-depth understanding of the Vedic culture
3. sponsoring student scholarships
4. donations to Om Shantidhama
