Dear Mitras,

We have done the green festival in the past and would consider doing it again, possibly in the spring.  I have started to compile a list of a number of festivals, street fairs, and other public events that happen throughout the year.  One project could be to create a calendar so that we can better prepare ahead of time and allocate mitra-power where it will be most effective.  Certain things require registration fees and we want to take a look at where we can make the most difference before committing funds.

I am wondering if we will be meeting in person again soon, or will we be communicating via email about such things.  What's the consensus?  I propose that we have at least one meeting before we finish classes in November.  How about after class finishes on Saturday, Nov. 5 for about an hour?  We can have an agenda so we can cover some specific topics.

I'll start here with and if there are other ideas, please add.....
I.  Review of "you-tube" video project
2.  Organizing Event Calendar
3.  Discuss monthly meeting schedule?
4.  Recording meeting minutes for shishyaa/seva distribution and for tracking action steps

love and have a beautiful day,
Ambika

yes I can meet on Sat.  I did look at the Green festival and it is pricey to have a table there but maybe worth it in the spring or next fall.  Love, Kamala

Hi Ambika,  After reading your email went to our AHNA newsletter and saw this and thought about our mission to raise funds as well as students.  If you think worth while please share.   Love, Kamala

P.S  Would also love to get together some time maybe with Aparna as well.  Tea at our favorite spot or maybe coming over to my place  I went home thinking and I don't know if I shared I have been getting pulled towards Nevada city and was told about there being a  Ayurveda school there.  Check out there web site and indeed it is a college with a very structured programs, courses and even mid term and final exam.  There were many positive things I saw including CEU for nurses ( which I am going to see how we can get that)  and structure and requirements for clinicals.  I saw Dr. David Farley and Yogini on there board.  So afterwards it became clearer to me and the question for me is what am I pursuing.  I know I was drawn in by the spiritual aspect and Shunyaji and I have struggled with the rest but gradually embracing many principles in my life.  Soooo.......The direction Shunya is going with a Ashram and getting involved in some meaningful community project is not out of line with what I am pursuing except professionally it may not take me where I want to go where ever that may be, ha, ha  .  I do think if she turned over the schooling part to a MD who has a invested interest in it being a college and she oversaw the whole  that would also grow.  Well just some thoughts.

Advocacy in Action

Advocacy begins by reaching out to others with our ideas for change, our praise and ways to take a stand for ourselves, our clients, our community, our friends, our country, and our planet. Advocacy can be about everyday things in our lives and doesn't have to be about changing the world-just our piece of it.

I am a holistic nurse and I advocate for asking for support.

If you have an "Advocacy in Action" to share, please send it to the AHNA Practice Committee at YourHoli...@ahna.org

Help Support Holistic Nursing

With your help, AHNA works to support holistic nurses through avenues such as the Charlotte McGuire Scholarship Program, allowing holistic nurses to seek education. Here is what one recipient said about the importance of her scholarship:

"That check gave me the needed bit to get me through to September when my student loans could kick in. Truly a gift from the AHNA and Charlotte McGuire as I believe her quest was being worked on."  -Kim Santamaria MS, RN

AHNA also uses your gifts to advance holistic nursing research and practice, bring members to conference, help members in financial need, and help AHNA grow and develop.

AHNA needs your ongoing support for the growth and advancement of holistic nursing. We invite you to make a year-end donation to AHNA. And for gifts of $50 or more, you will also be entered in a drawing to win one of four great prizes*. Donate now!

Let's talk some more.  In addition, you may want to have a meeting with Shunya since you misssed her announcement and of course the opportunity to ask questions...  There are pros and cons and of course YOUR PATH!
