Hello sir,
I was just wondering, what is the original form of vedas? Where are
they written, and where are the original copies at present??? And do we
get any published books or excat translations of vedas in English? If
so, I would like to know where???

Regards,
saurin patel

Answer:
Its a good question. The original form of Vedas is Shruti - hearing.
Vedas were revealed to Lord Brahma in his heart and then he transmitted
them in the spiritual space and the rishis of the yore received these
while meditating.

Shrutis were meant for earlier ages since there was no need for a
written form. In the Kali Yuga, however, Srila Vyasadeva compiled them
in writing . Kali yuga is the worst of the ages and our memories are
polluted with so many material contaminations. There is no exact date
of its writing but it is sometimes in the early days of Kali Yuga. Kali
yuga started some 5000 years ago.

Some of the manuscripts are preserved in Melkote in Karnataka and some
other places.

Published books and English translations are available. But I do not
recommend spending time in reading the vedic texts. Rather we should
spend our valuable time (which is in short supply) in learning trhe
essence of Vedas, which we can apply in our daily lives to become a
better person. I will be informing you about the recommended books at
the end of the course.

Om Tat Sat.
