Wieman, entitled "Taking a Scientific Approach to Science and Engineering Education", which will take place on 31 January 2026 (Saturday) at 09:30 AM IST (Online).
While science and engineering have advanced rapidly through experimentation over the past 500 years, science education has largely remained unchanged and rooted in tradition. New research on how people learn, supported by controlled classroom studies, now shows far more effective ways to teach and assess learning than are used in most university science courses. This talk will highlight these findings, the principles behind effective learning, and how they can transform university teaching to meet the needs of 21st-century students.
