Battery woe seems solved with my recent software update.

I'm getting much more comfortable with the throttle. I figured out a
major difference besides the roll-forward-for-braking: in the neutral
throttle position the bike coasts freely. 4 stroke ICE (Internal
Combustion Engine) vehicles start engine braking as soon as you start
to come off the gas. With the Vectrix if you are not actively
accelerating or braking you are coasting. This turns out to be handy
once you get used to it since it means you can take your right hand
off the grip without slowing down hard.

OK, to the Subject. I found that I got substantially better mileage
these last couple of rainy days in San Francisco. I suspect that is
the direct result of being very very gentle with throttle and brake
inputs so as to avoid sliding all over the place. Easy does it, and
all that.

On the other hand, my round trip to work is only 14 miles, so there's
not really an ugly price to pay for spanking it.
