I have heard that apparently VNTI is available for free ?!! Is it true
?
If yes, where is it possible to download it ?

Hi,
Yes invitrogen made vectorNTI freely available with a yearly renewable
license, see their website
https://catalog.invitrogen.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=userGroup.eSupportCenter.
I haven't downloaded the free version yet, but when you're on their
website, you first have to be registered, then you can download the
program and install it, after you have to "order" a free copy, they will
then send you the activation key valid for a year.
I know it was not working 2 weeks ago, they had problems on their site:
you could only tick the non-academic paying version.
