I had experience with sequencher in the past (it did it's job
reasonnably well). I now only use the contigexpress module and find it
somewhat less good (as sequencher version from years 2000-2001).
I now hear this same comment from other people, is there anyone out
here that knows why contigexpress is less well regarded, and are there
DOs and DONTs that could improve the performance of contigexpress.
Typically the contiging is not correct for a set of simple sequences,
and needs to be rearranged. Sometimes performing the contigs 2 by 2
starting the most overlaps gives better results, but it's a bit long
and needs previous knowledge.
All the best
Nemo
