Mexico and Costa Rica Country Managers meet for the first time
|
|
|
In one of the first meetings between Mexico and Costa Rica to strengthen Regional Operations within UST Global, Enrique Austria, Mexico's Country Manager (on the
left), welcomed Douglas Sanchez, the new Country Manager for Costa Rica (on the right). During his first visit to Mexico City to introduce himself to the team, Douglas had the chance to share in the experience of belonging to UST Global for almost a year of
challenges, best practices and successful stories in Mexico. The meeting was very productive in terms of identifying synergies, key stakeholders, and areas of collaboration from a business perspective. There are similarities in business and culture in both
countries, and now thanks to the presence of UST Global, the two countries also share the upcoming projects of building a UST Global campus.

Friday, May 9th, was the inauguration of UST Global's first near shore center in Spain. UST Global joins forty other companies to operate out of the scientific
park of the prestigious University of Salamanca. We were received by local authorities, the Dean of the University, and Mr. Ignacio Sanchez Galan, CEO of Iberdrola, the largest energy company in Spain. The day was a huge success as we inaugurated our first
Center of Excellence here in Spain to give support to Spanish companies, Europe, LATAM and of course, our global clients.

GAMA organizes Microsoft Office Efficiency Workshop
|

As part of leveraging our Microsoft Partnership, GAMA organized a Microsoft Office Efficiency Workshop at our Trivandrum Center on April 4th. The session was facilitated
by Dr. Nitin Paranjape, the Business Efficiency Guru from Microsoft.
The session was an eye-opener on how features of Microsoft Office were highly under-utilized. Four batches where conducted in one day, in which one batch was exclusively for Leaders. From the various verticals, around 390 USsociates attended the sessions. All
the participants were excited by the session.
The innovative approach of unearthing the maximum value from using Microsoft Office will definitely improve the personal productivity of the participants, regardless of the role they play in the organization.
The comment from Dr.Nithin about the program was: "Well-organized program."

iRecognize: Point, Shoot and Identify
|
|
|
Google Glass is a gadget that is being looked at with profound curiosity. The concept from the word go has been breathtaking. Every application developed to work
in on this hardware platform evokes an immense amount of inquisitiveness.
USsociate Joseph Chrispin has just developed a new application for Google Glass for facial recognition and identification. It is simply amazing in terms of usability. A voice command can be used to query the device resulting in instant recognition. The details
of the users are also provided as an output to the voice command. The app even properly recognizes people with disguises or masks. It works by verifying the person with details that have been uploaded to the server. When the voice command activates the recognition
process, the app compares the image captured by Google Glass with the saved images. The matching image is then provided to the end user. The output is displayed on the device while an audio note is played through the speakers. The app uses the Recognition
SDK as part of the third party library.
Screenshots of the application are included here to give our readers an understanding of the functions before you get the opportunity to try out the app and the gadget for yourselves.
