From here you can enter a whole range of HOI4 console commands that can do a range of things from innocuously changing the weather to giving yourself an unholy amount of nukes for when enough is enough.
Country Tags refer to countries that were independent entities in 1936 when your typical HOI run begins. Releasable Countries are those that are either colonies of Empires such as Algeria, or countries that are part of a union such as Scotland.
To trigger an event, open the console, type "event " and then follow it up with the respective event code.EventFor additional commands not specific to Millennium Dawn, check out the Hearts of Iron 4 Official Wiki's Console commands page.
Cheats are activated in the console using the F12 (above the backspace and enter keys).
The following is a list of the codes the writer is aware of.
Basically the same commands exist as in HoI2, but their functionality must be verified before putting them in this article.
If you want to contribute to this page, which is a work in progress, in the console type "help" to see the list of commands, then to see a description and parameter of a command, type "help [command-name]", and put the corresponding details into the list.
They allow to toggle the debug mode on and off, making it convenient to use the console and play, but this doesn't enable instant reloading of files. For modding, it's better to use both a mod and launch options.
For the Xbox Game Pass / Windows 10 Store edtion it's more complicated, as you cannot create a normal shortcut for it, so you'll have to run the following commands in Command Prompt every time you open the game:
To activate achivements again, disable all active mods and remove -debug_mode from launch options. After launching the game, make sure you have the correct checksum. It can be found in the right corner in the Main Menu.
Debug info can be enabled and disabled either from one of the console buttons or by using the debug_mode command. When debug info is activated, characters, interactions and events will show debug info which is normally hidden during normal gameplay. It should be noted that when debug info is enabled the game will consume a bit more resources but it shouldn't have a noticeable effect on most machines.
Hovering over event options will show the AI weight for the option. Also, in the top-right corner of the event window, hovering over the question mark (?) shows internal details, including the following:
Cheats are console commands that can be used to give unfair advantages as opposed to sole testing purposes. Note that pressing the Tab key with the debug window open will show a list of commands, and pressing tab again after typing chosen command will show parameters available for the command in the debug window.
Most artifacts are randomly generated through complex scripts and cannot be spawned with the console. However historical artifacts can be created that way. To spawn an artifact copy one of the following lines in the console. The game will crash without the OWNER = this scope.
All traits have a tag that is referenced internally by the game. They can be found in game\common\traits\00_traits.txt. A trait's tag typically matches its name. To get a trait's tag from its name, perform the following steps:
All titles have an internal title tag that can be found in game\common\landed_titles\00_landed_titles.txt. Title tags have a prefix based on their rank, followed by an underscore (_) and then their name.
The title ID may not match the title's name in-game. For example, the player may have their game set to a language other than English or a title has a culture-specific name. Use the following steps to find a title ID purely on its in-game name:
This page lists all of the codes which may be inputted into the Console Window, a special debugging window which may be accessed by hitting Alt+21. (This is true for most people; see the FAQ below for other cases.) Many codes can be unloaded by repeating the command, but sometimes reloading the save or exiting the game is necessary.
Where the "[" and "]" characters are not entered, but used on this page to denote the parameters (specifications) of the command. Codes and other parameters should ALWAYS be entered in lower-case, with the important exception of country tags which should ALWAYS be in upper-case. To achieve additional effects not covered by the standard console commands, you can use the event command to execute events. A list of useful events and ID #'s follows this list.
All of the 'General Cheats' are verified, so make sure that your spelling of the code is right. Remember that codes are in lower-case exclusively, and country tags are in upper-case exclusively. Also, if there's a required parameter, you must enter this parameter or the console won't process the command. Be careful too to only insert spaces between a command and parameter(s), and not within a code or a parameter, as spaces are used by the game to distinguish between the elements you enter.
Stardew Valley may be a wonderful game, but there's no denying it imposes excessive limits upon the player. Every item has prerequisites, and the productivity of each day is dictated by your energy and the inevitable march of time. But our Stardew Valley cheats guide will walk you through how to break down all these limitations, from pausing time to spawning items, from insta-completing quests to giving yourself unlimited money - and much, much more.
Broadly speaking there are two ways of introducing Stardew Valley cheats into your game - with mods and without mods. My advice is: please, please use mods. I know using mods can be scary if you've never done it before, but I'll walk you through every step, and it makes things so much easier.
By far the best way to enable all sorts of cheats in your Stardew Valley game is using two specific mods: the CJB Cheats Menu, and the CJB Item Spawner. To install them both, you'll first need to download and install another mod (don't panic) called SMAPI.
Thanks to SMAPI, you can also now use the SMAPI window that runs in the background of Stardew Valley to type in various console commands. See this Stardew Valley Wiki page for all the console commands you can use.
Note that because most of these "cheats" are actually exploits caused by glitches or other errors in the game, there's an ever-present risk of them being patched out. There are unconfirmed reports that many of these cheats no longer work in the most up-to-date versions of Stardew Valley, though if you still have an older version saved somewhere, you should still be able to make use of them to your heart's content.
Every you swing a weapon, your character moves forward very slightly. You can use this to glitch yourself beyond the boundaries of certain places, by pressing yourself up against the edge and swinging your weapon rapidly until you eventually break through to the "other side".
There are all sorts of uses for this glitch, but one of the most useful is to give yourself infinite Energy by tricking the game into thinking you're swimming. Do this by exiting the game's boundaries in the Spa, heading to the pool, placing down a post of any kind in the water, and then touching it. Now you can leave, and - because the game inexplicably thinks you're still swimming - you'll have infinite Energy.
For this trick, you'll need to have an active quest in your journal. Simply open up your journal just after your cast your line, and time will stop - but you can still fish as usual, and reel in whatever takes the bait.
You know how the moment 2am arrives on the clock your character yawns and passes out? You know how it's super annoying, because whoever comes and "saves" you also takes a portion of your funds for the trouble?
Well, with a bit of timing you can stay out past 2am and avoid this unfortunate circumstance. All you need to do is open your journal while your character is in the middle of their yawning animation. This will stave off the tiredness just a little longer. It's not ideal as you'll have to keep opening and closing the journal, but it's a good way to avoid passing out while hurrying back home.
Gold-quality Spring Onions are a premium item in Stardew Valley, granting bigger health and energy boosts when eaten, or selling for much more money if you don't choose to hang onto them for personal use.
The Galaxy Sword, with its impressive speed and damage stats, is clearly intended as a late-game weapon. To obtain it legitimately, you need to take a Prismatic Shard (one of the rarest items in the game) to the Calico Desert and hold it up between the three pillars to forge the sword.
But if you want to get your hands on this undeniably shiny weapon early, you can effectively trick the game into giving it to you much more easily. Go to Pierre's General Store and drop 30,000g on the Catalogue that gives you unlimited access to all floors and wallpaper, then purchase the Green Wallpaper (#75).
To duplicate items, you'll need to name your character using between one and three Item ID Codes (see below). Every item in the game has a unique code (for example, Diamond is 72, and Cranberry Sauce is 238). And whenever those numbers appear in a dialogue window, surrounded by square brackets, the specified items will appear in your inventory.
The best way to abuse this cheat is to talk to Gus at the Stardrop Saloon. He'll say your name at the beginning of every conversation (after the first), so you can easily spam conversations with him to get unlimited items for free.
