Dear colleagues,

 

For those who are interested to attend the Presidentiables' Forum on the 23rd of Feb. particularly based in Mega Manila, please contact me immediately for the reservation. It will be held at Intercon.

 

Please be informed also that OCD will be calling for VDC special sectoral general assembly immediately in relation to AO 187.

 

For those organizations who are still interested to join should ready the accomplished organizational profile (provided under AO 187/distributed by NAPC secretariat), to be submitted to OCD in case they will ask you. OCD have already the list of organizations including your organization that are potential participants in the planned special assembly. Take note that some provisions stated in the AO not applicable to our sector wil be decided by OCD as lead partner agency. I provided already the OCD with the VDC guidelines we formulated alligned with AO 187. Hope they will utilize that in the holding the said assembly. Definitely, I will be providing support to OCD in the preparation and actual conduct of the assembly. Ito naman ay dahil nagkatuwang talaga tayong matagal with OCD specifically in our legislative agenda and of course yung support in most of our activities.  Sana wala akong mga schedule na malalayo para makatulong.

 

I will be asking also some of you to extend support especially Leomer and Soc who are based in Manila. Liza Ugay had previously stated her position with the NGO position of disengagement from NAPC. Of course, we respect her on that matter. Medyo nagkulang ng pasensya, sabagay nakakapagod din at marami pa talagang dapat ding gawin in our respective organization.

 

Baka makalimutan ko, based on our meeting with OCD last monday, an PNRC o PRC ay hindi na isasali  sa sector. ito naman day ay automatic ang membership ng PNRC at all levels ng DCCs. So their participation is assured already according to OCD.

 

Anyway, mag-update na lang ako ulit.

 

Hope this e-group ay magtuloy-tuloy for sharing of information. The DRRM law is already in the hands of the President for signing. Di ba maganda naman ang ginawa natin, kahit papaano?

hello Bong thanks for the Update. Anyway, the Red Cross whether a member or not of the VDC will remain your Partner i pursuing the VDC's agenda. Lately I have been a lot of training for the BDCCs having been inspired by the active participation and interest of the BDCC members from 28 barangays in Garchitorena and Lagonoy. We already had two trainings with various BDCCs and the trainings focus mainly on DP planning where we integrated climate change adaptation. We shall be ending our special project next month but before it officially ends we have installed some mitigation activities in some areas. This include the installation of flood markers in 5 bgys. in north coastal Lagunoy; the construction of a flood gate in Sumaoy, distribution of typhoon tracking maps that the BDCC can put in their barangay hall (PagASA was invited in one of our trainings to discuss how to track typhoon and other related information on hydrological hazards including El Niña which seems imminent to affect us.
We are also preparing our DIPECHO proposal which will be implemented in CamNorte, CamSur, Antique and Palawan.
I will be keeping in touch and share some news on what Red Cross is doing particularly from our end.

warm greetings!

just to inform you that we were in Lagonoy for medical missions in January (at the town health center), and in February in San Sebastian and Cabotonan.  In March, we will be at the north coastal barangays.  This is partnership with the LGU and MSWDO and the Glorious Adonai Church.  We were also in Legazpi (Taysan relocation site) for the same work.

Our partner doctor, Ryan Naona, will also be conducting basic health and medical principles and practices among our local partner staff (mostly mothers) in March.

The UMA. PDRN, OXFAM ay patuloy po ang pagtulong sa mga nasalantaan ng undoy at pepeng. Sa kasalukuyan ang mga pinagkalooban ng food relief noon ay masusing pinili na maging beneficiary sa early recovery assistance project hanggang sa may.
Ang mabuting balita ay nauunawaan ng mga opecialis na aming tinatag every baranggay ang patunguhin ng project. salamat sa Diyos. Sa kasalukuyan ang UMA ay  nakikipag coordinate na sa 3 bayan,(Urbiztondo, Mangatarem, at Aguilar). May balak kaming magsagawa ng Free midical mission sa gaganapin naming asimbliya sa Marso o kaya Mayo dito sa bayan ng Mangatarem,

Congratulation to all for a job will done as former VDC council members.  We still have so much challenges ahead of us and I'm sure we still continue to work for the rights of the IDPs in our areas of concern. Thank you for the opportunity to work with all of you. Am still willing to be part of NAPC maybe in the next administration outside of the context of AO 187 because this AO is a blatant violation to the essence and true spirit of the basic sector 's role in NAPC.  May the Lord will shatter the darkness of evil sorrounding this administration.
