Hello Friends,

VDAY DC is looking for some energetic and passionate women to join our 2014 Steering Committee! As a member of the steering committee you will help VDay DC organizing our annual performance of Eve Ensler’s play, The Vagina Monologues, and raise money for a to-be-named local nonprofit that is working to end violence against women.

Being a VDay DC steering committee member is an amazing opportunity to take on a leadership role and raise awareness about violence against women in the DC metro area. It does requires a significant level of commitment. There are a variety of roles on the steering committee including: Education team, Fundraising team, Production team, Finance, Outreach/Communications, Directors and Stage Manager.  Typical responsibilities include:

• Attending steering committee meetings and conference calls (between December 2013 - April 2014) generally held on weekday evenings and occasionally on weekends

• Planning and running fundraising and educational events

• Managing VDay DC’s social media and updating our website

• Soliciting in-kind donations for raffles

• Organizing cast bonding activities

• Preparing scripts and other materials for the cast

• Checking email regularly to stay on top of tasks

• And of course, having fun and supporting our community!
