CASS says: We're on track to SELL OUT for our fundraiser party tonight (3/28) at Room & Board off U Street. Tix are $25 and the funds go to: a quick run-though of the what the funds ($25) will go toward:
Launching RightRides
DC
RRDC is a volunteer-run program that will provide free, late-night rides home for women and
LGBTQ folks who may not feel safe (or
can't afford) taking taxis, public transportation, or walking home late at
night.
Establishing
a"Safe Bars" Training Program
“Safe Bars,” our newest program, will train local bar and club
staff on how to recognize predatory or harassing behaviors and how to safely
intervene in situations that could potentially lead to sexual assault.
Conducting Arts-based Activism (check out what we just did Fri!)
You might have already seen some of our anti-sexual harassment
art around the U Street/Logan Circle/Farragut areas. We want to do more! Funds
will help us conduct more public art actions as well as arts workshops for
survivors.
And
lots, lots more!
Such as continuing to collect and share stories of local public
sexual harassment and assault on our blog and highlighting the scope of the
issue to help foster a supportive community.
