Hi ladies,
My room in a great rowhouse in Columbia Heights is opening up (some of you just came by for our intro meeting, in fact). The rent is really good for the area and I have lovely housemates. Please pass on to those who might be interested!

Basic details: Second floor bedroom in a four-bedroom shared rowhouse with three late twenties/early thirties women. Available February 1st (move-in can start on January 27th; lease must begin February 1). Rent is $795 including all utilities, cable and high speed internet (it's a really good deal!).
Your (potential) space: Medium-sized front-facing bedroom with a closet, two large windows, and upstairs bathroom shared amongst three. Plenty of room for a large bed, desk, and dresser. House includes indoor bike storage space, kitchen, living and dining rooms on first floor. Laundry is available in the basement.
The rest of the house: Central heat and A/C, hardwood floors, lots of books and games, decor with character, bright and sunny. Kitchen, dining room, and living room are furnished and equipped, though we may have some space for additional small items. We have front and back porches and a large side yard.
The location: Centrally located between Petworth and Columbia Heights metro (Green/Yellow lines are a 10 minute walk), in a diverse, friendly community. A short walk away from the Red Derby. The house is about 10 minutes walk from Giant, Target and the Columbia Heights Marketplace/farmers market. Also close to Yes! Market in Petworth, Quiet Mind Yoga on 14th St, and several Thai, Vietnamese and El Salvadorian take-out options, as well as a tasty French bakery. Easy access to downtown via metro, bus systems, or by bike.
The housemates: three female housemates in their late twenties / early thirties. We work for national non-profits. All of us enjoy sharing wine/beer, dinner parties and movie/game nights, but no crazy parties. We all share chores and cleaning responsibilities, and compost using DC's Compost Cab service.

We are looking for someone who is at least 25, a non-smoker, who has experience living with housemate, does their dishes promptly and will share house cleaning duties, is friendly/open to sharing an occasional meal, and is responsible with a reliable income/employment (our landlord checks this). LGBT friendly, eco-friendly, low-drama, and openly communicative house.
Timeline/Logistics: We are looking to meet one-on-one with potential housemates during the first two weeks of January. A $35 application fee, $500 deposit, and first month’s rent are due at the sub-lease signing, which will take place during the week of January 14th.
