Currently some dedicated activists are occupying Monroe Park with sleeping bags, and will be staying there indefinitely. However, we understand that many people are unable to sleep in the park and occupy it all day. So every day you should visit Monroe Park, even if it is just for a few minutes. This event is ongoing and should happen INDEFINITELY (today, tomorrow, even a month from now).

Bring your friends and hang out in the park for a little while, even if it is just for a few minutes. Talk to the people, hang out by yourself, study, do whatever you want. Just do it in Monroe Park and make sure people see you doing it.

You should also tell one other unknowing person about why they should visit Monroe Park. Please spend some time in Monroe Park every day until a decision is made on whether or not Richmond City will continue with their prejudiced renovation plans.

The reason we are encouraging people to visit Monroe Park is so the world, and the city government especially, can see that the Park is being used, is loved the way it is, and doesn't need renovations and gentrification of the poor. It will also help provide some support and safety for the occupiers.
