Meena Nanji is an award-winning filmmaker and freelance writer. Her documentary "View from a Grain of Sand" is a journey through the last 30 years of Afghanistan's history as lived by three Afghan women. A doctor, a teacher and a social worker each tell how their lives were affected by wars and different regimes. Despite the catastrophe around them, these women continue to survive and help others.
This program is the third in a series on Afghanistan, Iran and Kurdistan. In September, photojournalist, author and filmmaker Kevin McKiernan will speak about his experiences in Kurdistan.
The program is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters, contact: 805-375-9939 or GlobalEx...@yahoo.com
