Clean Duplicate Contacts

In some situation, you may see duplicate contacts after sync. For example, if you use multiple sync software to sync data to your Android Contacts App, you may end up with duplicates. In case you use other sync softwares such as Samsung Kies (outlook sync), HTC Outlook Sync or Google Sync to sync your contacts, please try not to use it in the future.

Before you clean the duplicates, please do a simple test.
1. In the   VCO Contacts -> Settings > Export Contacts to Mobile, select “Phone-only”
2. In the   VCO Contacts -> Settings > Import Contacts from Mobile, select “Phone-only”
3. Create a new contact in Outlook Contacts with name and mobile number
4. Sync to VCO
5. Edit that contact in VCO Contacts App(e.g. change the Mobile number)
6. Sync with Outlook again.
7. Make sure that this contact is not duplicated after sync. 
8. Edit the contact in Android Contacts App and make sure the changes can be synced back to Outlook after sync.

If the answer in step 7 and 8 are yes, please continue:


Please follow the steps to clean  up the contacts
- Make you the contacts in Outlook are not duplicated. If there is any duplicates, please clean it.
- Assume your Outlook is the master copy and have all the contacts information.
- In the   VCO Contacts -> Settings > Export Contacts to Mobile, select “Phone-only” (if you haven’t done that)
- In the   VCO Contacts -> Settings > Import Contacts from Mobile, select “Phone-only” (if you haven’t done that)
- Make sure you are using the latest VCO (Build 207 or above, you can check the version in VCO Settings)

1.  Backup your Outlook. (Just in case anything goes wrong)

2. In VCO Settings, check the "Delete synced contacts when reset"

3. Click the "Reset" button and select the "Reset Contacts App Only ". This will remove all contacts from VCO and the linked contacts from Android.

4. Download a free app called Contacts Remover to remove all the remaining contacts from phone.

5. Then, sync with Outlook. You will then have the clean data
