I had suggested last semester that M.E. students do mini-projects in the Wireless Networks Lab by combining two or more of the experiments. This commercial product combines GPS, GPRS, and RFID, along with database and web technology.

Dear Sir,

In our M.E. Wireless Networks Lab, the students have built their own experiments using all of the hardware used by these people: GPS, GPRS, and RFID. They want Rs. 20K for the collar with this hardware that costs only around Rs. 10K. They also want Rs. 4,200 per bus for the tracking software, which will run into lakhs for the college and school each year. The software should be easy to build in-house.

If the management is interested in this technology, I can assign it as an M.E. and/or B.Tech final year project, and hopefully get the same or even better results!
