Dear Colleagues,
The 14th Annual Virtual Cell Short Course will be offered June 17-19, 2013 at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, CT. The Virtual Cell (http://vcell.org) is a computational software environment for modeling and simulating cell biological systems. This user-friendly software tool supports deterministic and stochastic simulations for both non-spatial and spatial models (including reaction-diffusion models with geometries derived from 3D microscope images). The course is free, but requires an application that describes how prospective students plan to use the Virtual Cell system. For details on the course and how to apply, go to:
http://www.ccam.uchc.edu/events/VCell%20Short%20Course2013.pdf
The Application deadline is May 1. Please pass this on to potentially interested colleagues.
If you are interested in a longer more general modeling course, please consider the annual 3 week course on “Computational Cell Biology” at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory: http://meetings.cshl.edu/courses/2013/c-comp13.shtml. The deadline for applications to CSHL is March 15 and the course will run from July 23 – August 12, 2013.
Best,
Les
