Hi all,
I am trying to use VCell to run a BioNetGen model. I love VCell's debugging features, but I am getting an error that I just can't seem to figure out where to make the adjustment to the model. The error is:
MappingException-Local parameter 'EGFRtotal' math namescope name is 'EGFRtotal' and conflicts with existing global parameter named 'EGFRtotal'.  Please rename either the local or the global parameter.
How do I rename one or the other of these parameters? I get the same error regardless of whether I use the BioNetGen app or the NFSim app.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Best,
Kim

Hi Kim,

Most likely, the observable you named EGFRtotal (global parameter) conflicts with a local parameter you introduced (e.g. initial concentration). To find out, open Parameters, Function, Units in the left menu, Select Parameters and Functions, and type EGFRtotal in the Search. You will see all instances of this name, and you can change it right there. You may do Simulations -> Generated math -> Refresh Math to update all values before running.

If you still have problems, please share the model with VCell support and send an email to vcell_...@uchc.edu with the name of the model.

Best,
Michael
