August is just around the corner! Venturer Camp 2010 is almost ready, but we need you to come to precamp and discuss the final details for the camp.

Precamp starts Saturday 19th of June at 11am, and will be over by Sunday 20th of June at 1pm. We will ask for a £5 per head to cover food and camping fees.

The agenda will be something like this:
Saturday (11am start)
  • Introductions of the Central Team and centres coordinators. Followed by a quick introduction to camp theme, V-Topia, and how it links to the programme. We will also talk about all the centres and their role at camp.
  • Tour of the site: We will walk around the site showing where all villages and centres will be.
  • Lunch (provided)
  • Get together with your village: Discussion on equipment & appliances, village roles, cooperation, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Camp rules/policies: Discussion and consensus agreement in general rules for the site and camp. That includes alcohol policy, bed time, silent time, lunch times, etc.
Sunday (10 am start)
  • Breakfast (provided)
  • Outline of the programme: Explanation of V-Topia. We will go through the programme and we will explain what's on each night.
  • Other activities & discussions

Who:
Representatives from your district, old and young to discuss the camp and offer a representative view from your group, you should aim to bring a leader and at least one Venturer – please email us on vc...@woodcraft.org.uk to confirm that you can come.

Where:
Drumhill Scout Campsite, Morely Lane, Little Eaton, Derby.

Hope to see you all there,
Magico Martinez,
Venturer Camp 2010 Coordinator

I'm really sorry
We won't be able to send a Glasgow contingency
I'm a doctor though, and happy to play a part in medical services if you need me

ASs i said in a previous e-mail we may not have anyone able to come... but when you say 'get together with your village', will the villages have been decided beforehand?.  if so, we could communicate with our village re some of the issues to be discussed ....

Small question.
Kieran and I will be there. But we need to get from Derby station to the site.
What are the arrangements for this?

We will try and do a shuttle car otherwise there is a bus that goes from Derby centre to the Coop in Little Eaton and then walk up the hill.

Hi Magico

Thanks for the pre-camp offer. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone from
Edinburgh District will be coming (Although Ron Brown may - I don’t
know). Just to support what Bridie has asked for in that we would like
to camp with our friends from Glasgow. After that we are not fussy.

Many thanks

Ian
