Hello Everyone, Camp is fast approaching, I have typed up the disputes procedure and amended the guideline for how we deal with alcohol. We still don't have the final policies that you decided as we are waiting on Magico who is in Guatamala testing some new travel vaccine for a few more days and has the outcomes of the agreement. As soon as we have them I will issue the camp handbook with the completed guidelines, rules, maps and also menus. Please read though the disputes procedures, it would be good if everyone understood the process so when things do happen we are all working from the same ideas. Also see attached the camp map with the centre location put on it. Looking forward to an exciting camp. Lloyd ps. We have received many final payments and all bookings and payments will be processed in the coming days. However if you have not completed your bookings or payments (you know who you are) then the late fee is in place unless I was previously informed. | Keith, The disputes policy is the one that we discussed at the Venturer Camp meeting with the amendments - this is exactly what we discussed, no?. The advice on alcohol is the same as last year which we drew up with you on camp. It is advice for stewards on how to deal with alcohol - in a sense this is a document outlining how we intend to deal with breaches of the policy, its not the drugs and alcohol policy itself. As said in my last email the particular policy, is in Magico's hands and it sill come soon. Are there particular points that you wish to challenge - I'm more than happy to make corrections if I have not followed the will of the Venturer Camp pre meeting. did you have your guidelines for looking at behaviour in groups before camp that you helped draw up last time. It would be useful maybe to recirculate that. Blue Skies Lloyd |

Re: Disputes policy and camp map. Hi
| I agree that its is a fantastic resource that you developed Keith. Although I am bemused how it can "better" reflect the conclusions of pre-camp as so far the Village Handbook with the "formal" policies hasn't been sent around so there is no better! It should be sent around tomorrow morning after the final edit, this will be the full policies, while the headlines of the policies (which Keith refelcted well) will be included in the camp "passport", which will be given to everyone on site. |

Re: Disputes policy and camp map. OK, I think the Disputes procedure should be separate from the camp guidelines. It is about how we resolve disputes and grievances. The guidelines – including things like the programme, requirements for DF involvement in specific roles, sustainability, signing in and out, villages & circles, smoking areas, not getting intoxicated, looking after each other, etc – are another thing.
