Position: SQL DBA
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: Long Term

Job Description:

• Install and configure new Microsoft SQL Server instances including Always On availability groups and failover clustering
• Participates in Database Management System selection and maintains database performance
• Experienced in Database Performance Database management including backups recovery and maintenance
• Analyzes and generation of all tables and index statistics
• Monitoring and resolving data lock issues
• Create indexes to achieve critical dataset response time for time sensitive reports
• Install SQL Server service packs and updates Configure and manage SQL Security settings
• Manage database backup recovery DR planning in collaboration with IT manager and System Engineer
• Responsible for ETL of large data into SQL Server Author and modify SQL Server Reporting Services reports
• Perform SQL Server integration with enterprise applications
• Troubleshoot performance issues
• Troubleshoot issues in High availability in Replication Always ON Log Shipping

Additional JD:

• The SQL engineer needs to demonstrate knowledge and to design build test and maintain SQL server systems that meet business requirements as well as support the legacy SQL Server environment
• The right candidate should be a highly motivated individual excited to learn and grow in their field as well as adjacent fields in a fast paced large IT organization Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve on cross functional project teams as a platform subject matter expert
• Document system design and related processes
• Adapt daily to changing environment requirements and manage multiple tasks
• Lead team initiatives and coach junior team members Assume total responsibility for work assigned and deliver on commitments
• Take ownership of problems and or issues and ensure timely resolution
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of the Windows and VMware environment
• Follow all documented processes and procedures as defined by internal documentation create where lacking
