Dear VBMEG users,

I am a new user to this software and would like to ask if there is a
possibility to load other data formats like .eeg or .fif.

Secondly is it possible to do frequency domain source localization?

Looking forward for the response.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your questions.

> there is a possibility to load other data formats like .eeg or .fif.

For Neuroscan .eeg data, VBMEG does not have functions to import it. To
analyze .eeg data using VBMEG, you need to change its format according
to "3.1 Minimum EEG-MAT format" section in
$VBMEG/functions/doc/Standard-format-MEG_EEG_1_0_1_en.pdf.

For Neuromag .fif data, we prepared a MATLAB toolbox to import it.
Please download the toolbox from "Matlab toolbox for importing Neuromag
data" at VBMEG homepage (http://vbmeg.atr.jp/?lang=en), and see Readme.txt.

> Secondly is it possible to do frequency domain source localization?

VBMEG does not have functions for "frequency domain source localization".
Instead we do time-frequency analysis after time domain source
localization using a function 'vb_job_ersp.m'. Unfortunately we found it
does not work for some cases which we will fix in future releases. For
the moment we suggest to use the time-frequency tools in the other
toolboxes such as EEGLAB and FieldTrip.

Sincerely,
Yusuke Takeda
