Coaches Needed For 2018 VBCA Underclass Showcase
High School Coaches-
Congratulations on a successful spring season to everyone around the state. We have two big events next week and could really use some help at one of our most important for our student-athletes, the 2018 Underclass Showcase that will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Castleton University's Spartan Field in Castleton, Vt. at 11:30 a.m.
We are in need of coaches to work at the showcase and simulated game- we can never have too many coaches to help. It's also a good opportunity to network and introduce yourself to the college coaches. Also assistant coaches are welcome to volunteer as well. To sign up, please contact Bruce Bosley at bbosle...@gmail.com.
(We will also need assistance at the 2018 Twin State Baseball Classic on Saturday, June 23 in White River Junction but I will be sending a separate e-mail early next week)
For your student-athletes in the class of 2019, there are spots available for the 2018 VBCA Underclass Showcase (as usual 17-year olds wait until the last minute). Another registration form is attached and others can be obtained by e-mailing bbosle...@gmail.com. The cost per student-athlete is $40, payable to the VBCA. The deadline for registration is June 19, 2018— we need the registration forms in advance to create the roster for the college coaches and evaluators. U.S. Mail within the state takes 1-2 days and also the form also can be returned to me electronically with payment made at the event.
Also for those with American Legion, Babe Ruth or summer team commitments on Thursday, we should be finished by 3 or 3:30 p.m. The underclass game is last on the schedule so we can accommodate a few that need to leave earlier.
Note: A few sophomore (2020) spots may be available, especially catchers. They will be by invitation only and the high school coach must contact Bruce first. They are only available if less than 45 juniors (2019s) are registered and spots are not guaranteed. Only 2019s will pitch at the event and if we take any 2020s, they must have been a varsity starter all season long. Priority is given to catchers
Thanks!
