VIETNAMESE CUISINE IN NEW ORLEANS debuting on WYES Sunday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. discusses the growing popularity and acceptance of Vietnamese food in the Greater New Orleans area. Not only are new Vietnamese restaurants sprouting in trendy neighborhoods, but the cuisine is appearing at major festivals and in non-Vietnamese restaurants. The film examines the Vietnamese community in New Orleans, along with their origins and family traditions. Their use of backyard farming, in an effort to practice self-sustainability and grow crops indigineous to Vietnam, is also discussed.
