Hola compañeros,
My complete name is Miguel Ángel Berbel López but you can just call me Miguel. I come from Almería, a small region in the South East of Spain mostly known for being the filming location of many European westerns. I have studied two 4-years degrees, one in Mathematics and another in Physics, both in Complutense University of Madrid. Next year I will be doing my master on Pure Mathematics in the same university.
I do not have an advisor and I have not specialised yet in a particular area of mathematics but I like differential geometry and topology, especially those problems that relate with algebra. As an example, my end-of-degree project was a short introduction to the symplectic group from all these different points of view.
I have taken courses in linear algebra (2), groups & rings (1) and Galois theory (1). Also I took a course in algebraic plane curves given by Enrique Arrondo and an introductory course to algebraic topology.
Regards,
(By the way, I have been quite a few times in Fred Van Oystaeyen Street but I did not know who he was)
