Dear all
My name is Stefano Baranzini I'm from Angera ( https://www.google.it/maps/place/21021+Angera+VA/@45.7760804,8.5846108,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x478670fe9ba18411:0xb20d2f0a70d80539 ) and I took my bachelor degree in matemathics at the university of Milano Bicocca, same as Luca (di Gravina) did. I have just finished my first year of master at Milano Bicocca during which I attended an introductionary course to Bass-Serre theory and one to representation theory with T. Weigel and L. Di Martino resp. During the bachelor's years I took some courses in linear algebra, group, rings, Galois theory (just the basic stuff of all 4 I'd say...). I'm more interested in geometry and functional analysis than algebra, even though I'm no expert in either of them (might be a common flaw amog italian students). Anyway I choose the course to get a chance of working on my algebra skills and to see something more about lie algebras (and lie groups) which are not treated for real in any course in my university.
Other interests include piano which I play (actually used to untill recently) and classical music.
Hope to spend a nice month with you all.
Best regards
Stefano

Caro Stefano, thanks for the detailed description of your background, and it seems that you know
not just the prerequisites, but at least half of what we are going to discuss!
However, I do not see your picture attached! Could you resend it? Thanks!
I will not elaborate on the Milano part, enough, or too much. I've spent there a large part of the
early/mid 1990-ies, each Spring coming from Germany to teach a course or too, but it was still Citta'
Studi (actually, Fausto Ferrari attended my course on "Lie algebras and groups of Lie type" there,
back in the Spring 1993. He claims that I was still lecturing in English then, but I'm sure that starting
with the Spring 1994, "Algebraic K-theory", or not later than the Spring 1995, "Exceptional Lie algebras",
they were all in Italian).
As for the classical music, Perugia in Summer used to be a WONDERFUL place for that, as also
for various special events (like Fado, etc.). Some of the concerts, like the ones in churches, or in
Sala dei Notari, are free, sometimes cost a symbolic amount, and sometimes they used to come
together with dinner, you pay the entrance to a chiostro, and enjoy both a music part, and a buffet
dinner. They say, there are less concerts this year, than usual, for some reason, but there still many,
I guess.
Like the ones today and tomorrow in the San Lorenzo cathedral, at 21.30 --- but since the entrance
is free, to get good seats you have to come early, maybe half an hour earlier, at least.

Here's the picture. Thank you for the information about the concerts, I'll try to find someone to go with.
