Here, you can find another picture of E_8, Figure 2, more symmetric, but less
informative, at least for me. Black and white version is already in the book by
Coxeter on regular polytopes, I believe, but the coloured version might be due
to John Stembridge, an Australian guy, who writes cute papers and books on
the history of Mathematics, and high level mathematical entertainment (with
the stress being on MATHEMATICS).
That's a wonderful paper by a remarkable guy from California, Skip Garibaldi,
one of the best experts on invariants of exceptional groups. He IS of Italian
descent, but his Italian is not NEARLY as impressive as you would expect from
someone with that kind of the last name. But I'm more than impressed by his
mathematics, though.
