As I suspected and said, there is a built in battery backup for our garage gates.  I'd have to check further, but I think it lasts up to 3 weeks on its own battery power...if I read correctly.
This was an important objective when we changed systems.

Yes, there is a built-in battery backup for the gate operator. This is the factory rating for it below showing the number of cycles/standby days that the factory rates it for:

 

 

 

The factory can be a bit optimistic, so real world may be slightly less cycles.

 

One other thing to note, we did not install your access control/tag reader system, so I don’t have the specifics on that system, but if it’s not backed up by a battery backup as well, your tag reader will not function in event of a power outage.
