Can we find a secure home for this document?
Cindy, Tim A and I visited the Metropolitan and saw their EV solution and discussed a number of issues and problems they had to confront and resolve. Was a great 90 mins

Bob:

Thank you very much for the gift of a bottle of wine, which we will definitely enjoy.

Attached is a copy of our EV Charger Placement Guidelines, which you may find helpful.

Without answering your questions directly, I put together an information sheet that answers many of them in condensed outline form. We will go over them in as much detail as you wish tomorrow, along with side color commentary, then take a tour.

We will meet in the second floor conference room at the Met at 10AM.

Hi Joe.

Here are a few more questions:

  • Did you encounter owners who resisted a COA expenditure for infrastructure to support EV charging? If so, how did you garner support?
  • Did a COA expenditure require a vote of the owners? If so, how did you market the effort to owners?
  • What criteria define COA owned and funded infrastructure vs. unit owned and funded equipment?
  • What alternatives did you consider - i.e., individual and communal options?
  • What was the biggest design challenge? How did you address it?
  • What was the biggest surprise you encountered during installation and implementation? How did you address it?
  • What are lessons learned from your experience?
  • What is the capacity (number of individual charging stations)? Is it scalable?
  • What is the current number of installed individual charging stations?

After rereading your list, Joe, several of my questions are extensions of yours. Nevertheless, here they are.

Hi Patrick,

1.       What is current solution? (assume we will get a tour)

2.       What other solutions considered and why not chosen?

3.       Vendor used? Others considered?

4.       Approximate cost to install and maintain?

1.       Monthly charge? Included in HOA?

2.       Cost to HOA? Cost to residents upfront and ongoing)?

3.       Was an assessment needed upfront?

  1. Process to have residents pay for usage? (Metered? Other?)

6.       Issues:

1.       At installation?

2.       Ongoing?

7.       How many parking spaces total

1.       How many using the EV charging?

8.       Do residents support?

9.       Are residents who don't use paying for any of this?

Thanks again, for taking the time to share. Assuming we are treading ground you already trod.

Joe
