Sam Chase, currently living in Unit 317, wants to move to the Savier building.  Maddie (Settlyn) advises the move is short, and will take between an hour or two.  He is aware of the intra Vaux charges, but wants to move on Sunday Feb. 15.  We have a rule against moving in or out on a Sunday.  I want to give him an okayi to move on the Sunday.  Please let me know your thoughts...today if possible, as Chase and Settlyn are trying to formalize the move.
Thanks.

What’s the logic for no Sunday’s and does it not apply here?

I don't know the logic, Joe.  Could just be a leftover blue law, or maybe there's something else.  Whatever it is, I think we should let the guy move...paying and monitored by Settlyn.  But whatever the Board decides, Settlyn needs an answer: yes or no.

Paul,

We have a rule in place. Why should we not follow it?

Will Settlyn charge more for a Sunday move?

I’m with Tim on this — If this is a real move that requires Settlyn, and is  not just a few furnishings, I don’t want us to approve a Sunday move.  — Hal

It seems that the move is small (per Settlyn).  I am not sure why Sunday moves are disallowed. I am not opposed to Sunday moves and would be open to changing this policy that came into effect December 2021 or 2022.

To that end, I would vote to allow the move.

We just okayed a dispensation of the rules for one thing, but want to stick strictly to the rules for another thing that I believe deserves a dispensation.
I'm led to believe this is a small move.
I don't understand the rule's purpose anyway.  I'd appreciate knowing why people can't move on a Sunday.
Nevertheless, 3 directors approve and 2 don't.
I will give Settlyn the okay.

Clarification: I posted a comment and asked a question. I did not rule against the Sunday move.

That said, my question has not been answered. Nevertheless, the incremental difference is likely to me minimal.

I vote to allow the Sunday move. We probably should revisit the reason for the Sunday exclusion and perhaps modify the restriction.

I can't find the rule, Diana.  Point again, please.

Although I like rules and like weekend tranquility, I do not hold my resistance to a Sunday move very passionately.  Let the move begin!   — H
