All,

I just received the following from the Portland Treasurers Group about a package thief operating in the area. It seems there have been several or more incidents recently. One of the treasurers posted:

"I just got this string of emails. Looks like the package thief has a USPS key and is using that to get into buildings. We are taking action and I wanted to let you know. If you could let the group know I would appreciate it."

I do not know if we are impacted by this. If someone with more knowledge in this area could take the ball on this and investigate, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Tim

My experience with USPS is that they are very slow to deal with issues around keys.  When we moved into our unit, the former owner had no mailbox key thus we could not open mailbox.  It took 3 weeks of begging to get the local USPS to give us a key to one mailbox.
