The recent resident issues have been frustrating and concerning for many of us. Many have expressed concern for their safety and feel threatened. Some property has been impacted.  Let's remember that the resident in question is a person in crisis. I am not unfamiliar with a person suffering through this in my family. I can tell you that one of my sibling's family has gone through this with one of their children. The pain and destruction ripped that family apart in ways from which they will never recover. The niece in question is someone I adore. Let's be sensitive to that in our communications.

Why do I say all this?As a HOA directory and as a resident, I wear two hats. I fully understand that our job as directors causes us, as it should, to look past the personal side of the issue and to ensure that our residents and our property are not threatened. I am prepared to take, and have taken,  a hardened view to ensure I meet that obligation. But, all of our communications should be sensitive to the person (and their family) going through this crisis. A reminder, please. Just the facts, lets keep the judgment to ourselves. I know that's hard. Some of us have been verbally attacked in ways that are provocative.

thanks
Joe

A thing that stands out to me from the referenced incidents:
"The father" was referenced from the beginning, and some of us immediately cast him as the potential "adversary" if and when we tried to take protective action.  In the end he was not.  In the end, he was a seemingly nice and very unfortunate man who has been dealing with this painful family issue for a long time.
I am grateful for what I hope is the peaceful and constructive ending to this chapter.
I am also grateful for the way my neighbors dealt with this and were protective of each other and of our common interests.
