I trust the Security Committee to hold whatever dox they need closely. I believe we insist that they do so in some actionable form. I’m not sure exactly what, but letting them loose would have to be defined as a violation of some kind with fines hanging overhead.  — Hal

Darlene et al,

Thank you, Darlene, for initiating this effort with this list. The only additional area that comes to mind for me is that of physical keys to common areas, subsets of common areas, units.

The physical security measures the Vaux has been addressing for several years have strengthened the security of our community. Logical security measures, such as virtual keys, access tags, fobs, passwords, and physical keys are equally important.

I recommend that the Board submit a request to Kin to pull this together and deliver material to the Security Committee as a priority task.

In addition, to audit the individual processes the Security Committee will need lists of who has access via each method to use to: audit the accuracy of each process; identify strengths & weaknesses; and recommend improvements. Darlene must have this in mind. To expedite the audit process, I feel that we should request this data at the same time as the request for process documentation.

Those are my thoughts. Comments?

Tim

Hello:

To move forward with the security audit, the security team needs a complete breakdown of the current processes our Property Management manages for all access control systems. Specifically, please provide:

  1. Butterfly MX
    • User door entry access
    • Visitor/vendor access
    • Virtual key creation, distribution, and expiration
  1. Alta Open
    • User door entry access
    • Fob management (issuance, activation, deactivation)
  1. Vehicle Garage Gate
    • Access tag issuance
    • Tag activation/deactivation process
  1. Visitor/Vendor Access Controls
    • Process for temporary or recurring access
    • Expiration handling
  1. Virtual Key Controls
    • Setup, distribution, and audit process
  1. Vendor Documentation & SLAs
    • All current documentation
    • Service-Level Agreements for each system

Once we have this full process documentation, the security team can proceed with the audit.

Regards,

Darlene
