I have same issue, given and accepted solution wont solve the actual issue.
Contact app needs to show the WhatsApp symbol as shown in above image for valid whatsapp phone number. This feature was working great in my old samsung phone.
I think this was because of a new update. EVERY time my phone updates my contacts disappear. This is the 3rd time this happened. It is extremely inconvenient and annoying. From one day to another, my contacts are no longer in my phone. I followed threads online and nothing works to restore my contacts.
If you are missing WhatsApp contacts, I suggest you contact WhatsApp Support for help. The installation of an iOS update is not going to habitually delete contacts from an app. I'm guessing there is an issue with your WhatsApp, and you need to straighten it out with them.
I have certain WhatsApp group chats that I get constant messages from throughout each day. I don't need real-time updates on my Instinct for every message and I've already muted notifications for these groups in WhatsApp, but my watch still buzzes away incessantly all day. I do have other WhatsApp contacts that I would like to receive notifications from on my Instinct.
I've run into what seems to be an issue with Whatsapp and contacts which are specifically stored in iCloud. Whatsapp has permissions to Contacts but it seems that while the entries which are stored in the iPhone contact list are fine, contacts which are only in iCloud are not picked up. Also adding a contact to the iPhone contacts from Whatsapp will create one, but you will be creating a duplicate if there exists an entry for that in iCloud. Has anyone else come across this and found a way around it?
I am making a function in iOS where I am adding a new contact to a user's address book programmatically, which is all going fine. The next step is to send that new contact a message via Whatsapp, which is not very hard either. The purpose is to directly show the chat screen with the new contact. The problem is however that Whatsapp does sync it's contacts now and then.I am using the following intent for Whatsapp:
Where the message is an encoded string and the id is the id from the freshly added contact. When my program opens Whatsapp with that method, everything is going fine when the contact was already in the address book. When that contact is newly added, the Whatsapp screen will not go directly to that screen. Instead it will show the picker for all the contacts.
Long story short, I want to refresh Whatsapp's contacts using my code, in order to send the user directly to the Whatsapp chat screen of the new contact instead of the contact picker screen, which is because Whatsapp's contacts are not synced yet with the new contact.
Managed iPhones with WhatsApp Business cannot access the iPhone's contacts.
When contacts are created in Whats App, after clicking on "Done", a page is displayed that looks like a contact page with all the data. However, this cannot be confirmed anywhere, only terminated with "Cancel".
I have already checked the restrictions several times, but can't find anything.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I once saw a thread where they were having issues sharing contacts and photos after the Meraki MDM profile was installed. The issue was resolved by uploading a profile to the phone without active sync settings and manually setting up active sync.
It sounds like your issue may be related to the way contacts are being synced or social media is being blocked on your devices. I suggest you check your settings related to your firewall. I also recommend contacting Meraki support.
You can do this by adding the Restrictions payload and unticking "Do not containerize work data and contacts from unmanaged apps" and "Do not containerize personal data and contacts from managed apps".
I can't really reproduce what caused the issue, but all my contacts show up separately, it's like I'm having two contacts with identical name, one in the Google account containing all his phones, emails including his WhatsApp number but not identified as WhatsApp, and another one for each WhatsApp number the contact has.
It looks like my WhatsApp contacts are stored somewhere on the cloud and needs to be erased then be re-obtained automatically staying as simple contacts, but I haven't found a way to clear all WhatsApp contacts (I have 900 - meaning erasing them manually isn't an option).
I've tried to filter only WhatsApp contacts then choose delete selection but it didn't allow me to do that.
Solution was simple after realizing this, edit all your google contact numbers coresponding to whatsapp and either add the spaces in numbers without them or delete the spaces in numbers which got them.
Why it seemed to be helping? Because the contacts were re-sync to your smartphone - you can test it - just add a web page and it will fix the issue as well - the spaces in the number are not important, it just marks the contact for a re-sync.
What helps and much faster is a full re-sync of google contacts to your phone. You can achieve that by simply adding all of them into a new group, which you can revert in next step - 30seconds and everything re-synchronized and working.
What I'm not clear about though is what will happen with apps etc on my iPhone - are these tied to my existing SIM or phone number? Notably, what will happen with WhatsApps - will that still work as normal on my existing account, and will I receive messages as usual from my normal contacts? If so, will they have any knowledge that I'm on a different number (I really wouldn't want that!)
While it is (or at least was) possible to store contacts on a SIM, that option has not been preferable in years. Your contacts and other data is "attached" to your Apple account or whatever accounts you use to log in to those apps. People can still contact you thorough the apps, but if they call or text your regluar number directly it will appear to them that your phone is turned off.
There could be an issue with how you have stored contacts in your phone contact list if you try to make regular calls. If you did not include the plus sign and country code when you stored the number the Russian network will not know you are trying to make an international call. I got in the habit years ago of adding +1 to all of my US numbers when I store them.
For what its worth, in all of the SIMs i have used in my Android phone, all of my contacts are still there. you may notice that some additional contacts will be added after/when your new SIM is installed and setup. When you remove the SIM, they may disappear or not and then reappear if you reinstall the SIM.
If you choose to change your phone number with WhatsApp, you have to enter the old number and the new number; then they send you a text with a series of numbers that you enter to confirm the change. And then, when one of your contacts tries to WhatsApp you, they get a message that you are now using a different phone number.
2- Is it possible to Call WhatsApp contacts via CRM with a third party software integration, for example, VoIP softwares like Sipgate Aircall, etc? If so, what would it take to make this integration?
Hello everyone,
we are using Intune for our MDM Solution and deploy iOS devices via the Automated Device Enrollment Program of Apple. And from the "Device Restrictions" we allow the native iOS contact app to synchronise with exchange, because we want the employees to use the contact app for private and corporate contacts, too. Following the necessary Configuration Setting, to allow the synchronization:
"Allow unmanaged apps to read from managed contacts accounts"
But when we set this setting to "Yes" we allow the synchronization to all unmanaged apps.
We want to allow the employees to use WhatsApp with the corporate iPhone but do not want WhatsApp to synchronize with corporate contacts.
Does anyone know a way to stop WhatsApp synchronizing with corporate contacts but still give the employees the posibility to synchronize the native iOS contact app with corporate contacts?
Thanks a lot in advance!
The app is already used by many customers, as well as we use it ourselves. You can also test the app in a standard version for free (30days) easily at any time. All you have to do is go through the quick guide (5 Steps to activate SCA in your Azure Tenant - Secure Contacts App (SCA) (secure-contacts.com)) and ...
Yes. The fix for this... go into your contacts, settings menu and click about contacts, the version will come up, touch the screen as in tap it by the word contacts, maybe 9 or 10 times quickly in succession and a hidden menu shows. WhatsApp, messenger and meet was in there for me. Toggle them on, then Google will find them xx
For privacy protection, the platform offers end-to-end encryption, which means no one can read the content of a message other than you and the person who receives it. Even so, when you use the app, you may be sharing more information than you realize with your contacts, anyone else with your phone number, and parent company Meta, which also owns Facebook and Instagram.
WhatsApp also allows users to set a default time period for disappearing messages. If you enable this feature, all new chats will disappear after the time limit you choose. WhatsApp will display a message in your chats letting others know the default setting you picked. You can also switch back to non-disappearing messages or change the time duration.
